Judaism and Christianity

I believe in the idea that humans are born with a free will, and has the choice between
good and evil.
Everyone should be baptized as a requisite for salvation.
Everyone should follow the Ten Commandments as a guide and law for all humans.
A human being has a dual nature and is ruled by two impulses: one good and the other
evil.
Through reading the old and new testaments these will guide people to ideal life.
I believe that humans are born innocent – and as long as they conquer their evil impulses
they remain innocent.

Chinese:
Every person should build moral character rather than merely teaching skills or
information.
Man should aim to be sage or wise man.
People must interact with society
I accept as true that simplicity is the key to knowledge and patience is to understanding.
I should teach students with devotion to the family, loyalty to elders, love of learning,
brotherhood, civil service and universal love and justice.
As a teacher, I believe in five constant virtues: benevolence, righteousness, propriety,
wisdom and sincerity.

Indian Philosophy
We should avoid personal gratification because it is the root of sufferings in the world.
Everyone should commit to the ideal way of life by characterizing honesty, courage,
service, faith, self-control, purity and non-violence.
In order to overcome misery people should practice right understanding, right speech,
right conduct, right vocation, right concentration, right effort, right mindfulness, and
right thought.
We can attain ideal life through practicing yoga.
I should teach non-attachment, concern for humanity, and desire to become Buddha-like
and to live in harmony with the natural flow of the Universe.
I believe in the notion of Karma.

Japanese Philosophy
Deeds are more important than arguments.
I don’t have a concept of savior, paradise, faith in God, nor scriptures.
Children must first learn how to be courageous.
I should emphasize on dependence on oneself rather than an outside source for answers
and wisdom.
We should practice silent meditation which aims to awaken the mind in each person.
I consider that cowardice is condemned as a sin.

Islamic Philosophy
Man should avoid drunkenness.
To achieve actualization in life we should live up the words from Koran.
We should state the truth at all times and under all circumstances.
Man has duty to animals and should treat animals with kindness and compassion.
Men are allowed to marry four wives, provided they can take care of them.
People should observe praying, fasting, almsgiving and pilgrimage.

Reflect on the results. Does the result, align or contradict your initial understanding of these
Philosophies? Discuss and elaborate.
Based on the result, my Philosophy is more of Chinese Philosophies which is very true with
regards to my personal view about education. I strongly believe that learnings should not
be limited to pure concepts and theories only but that of realities of the world where the
true battlefield is found. Students should also be taught and should learn righteous
attitudes in dealing with other people in the society. Students should be taught to live
interdependently possessing good virtues, coupled with love and respect. While it is a must
for a person to be wise and sage in life, this should be coupled with compassion and
humility when it comes to treating other people. For me, being smart without a heart is
useless.
My next philosophies are that of Indian, Judaism and Christianity. I believe in the existence
of Divine Creator whose commandments should be followed. I believe that we should
always have that deep concern in humanity and selfless attitude. Free will is a gift from God
that should be used responsibly. We do have a choice over things but we should always
have to remember to choose what is right and just. I believe that living a Christ-like life is
what makes everything meaningful. I believe in the golden rule that says, “Do not do unto
others what you don’t want them to do to you.”

As to the other philosophies (Japanese and Islamic), my initial understanding about them
are align to the results of the inventory. Initially, I am not really into or I am not a firm
believer of Japanese or Muslim doctrine but I do respect them. Just like for example, I
believe in the sanctity of marriage and should be only between one man and one woman.
And as I have mentioned above, I believe in the existence of God and I value His words
written in the Holy Bible. I also believe that love and faith conquers all.
