Essential question:

How do you find out to which blood type someone belongs?

 Through blood typing.
Do this!
Direction: Observe the two sets of bloodstains below.
 Based on my observation the picture showing fresh blood which could mean that the scene
has not been done long before this was taken. Picture A shows a quantitative amount of
blood on spot which means that there was less pressure on the site of the wound. Picture B
shows that maybe the wounded person was forcefully dragged visible through the path we
see on the picture, the wounded person may be dragged from the right to the left.
Analyze this!
Direction: Answer the following.
1. Compare and contrast the pattern of bloodstains in A and B. (5 points)
In blood stain A (passive stain), it shows that the victim was injured in parts where in there is
less pressure that made the blood drip down, causing it to be an impact spatter. While the
bloodstain B (transfer stain), are blood stains that are distorted through a force acted upon
the body of the victim.
2. Is the bloodstain in letter A fresh? How does it help you solve the crime? (5 points)
It does look fresh because of the bright red color it gives at the beginning and darkish red on
its end part, assuming it has been done a couple of minutes ago turning the parts of the
blood dark red. Being able to tell how fresh the blood is gives a hint to the authority when
did the crime was committed, it is also a chance for them to issue a search and hot pursue
depending on the situation.
3. Cite a hypothetical crime scene that possibly shows or indicates the bloodstain pattern of letter
B. (30 point)
Based on my observation this could be a homicide which was done inside the home of the
victim, the perpetrator must live near the vicinity, quickly taking the opportunity of the victim
being alone. The victim may be stabbed causing the blood to drool down on the floor, and
afterwards when the victim was dead the perpetrator dragged the dead body of the victim
towards an area where it can’t be seen, in my conclusion the dead body was dragged a pretty
long way from the lower right having a thick trail of blood and towards the left it becomes
thinner and thinner until there’s no trace of blood.

Direction: Answer the question below. (30 points)
Do all blood from different animal species the same? Justify your answer.
 No, this is because of having different species could also mean having different blood types.
Same as in humans we have different blood types such as Type A, B, AB, and O. it is due to
the different antigens that can attach to their red blood cells, example of these are dogs
which has eight antigen and they are labeled as dog erythrocyte antigen, horse also do have
eight antigens and cats on the other hand has two.
