Despite no throwing of candy for the kids, it was a
fantastic parade once again. And it was a fantastic
and successful Homecoming weekend all the way
around. Thursday night Glasgow defeated Malta in
a volleyball match that went just three quick games.
Friday night the Scotties Crushed the Colts 54-6.
Friday afternoon the Fairview athletic director called

Glasgow’s athletic director Brenner Flaten to inform
him that their volleyball team had to cancel. Flaten
immediately started calling other teams to pick up
a match for Saturday afternoon, to no avail. Then,
on Saturday morning, Nashua got a call that their
opponent had to cancel, so it set up a match with the
Porcupines! The Scotties prevailed in three games,
25-17, 25-13, 25-17. The Scotties also fared pretty
well in the Miles City cross country meet Saturday
with Iris McKean winning the girls’ varsity race. It’s a
busy week ahead — keep rolling, Scotties!

Hoping they get caught
It’s not in our neck of the woods, but the Buzz
would like to remind the public of the idiots out there
who take pleasure in their asinine stunts.
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ game wardens are
seeking information for criminal trespass connected to
a red angus cow-calf pair that were shot with multiple
arrows, approximately between Sept. 20 and 23. The
incident occurred on a cattle ranch near Lennep in the
Whetstone Ridge area of the Castle Mountains near the
boundary of U.S. Forest Service land.
The Montana Department of Livestock is leading
the investigation with assistance from FWP wardens
and the Meagher County Sheriff ’s Office.
“My hope is that someone will come forward with
information, so we can make sure this doesn’t happen
again,” said FWP Game Warden Sergeant Kyle Andersen.
“These ranchers are hard-working folks who allow free
public hunting, and it’s a shame that the actions of the
criminals who did this unfairly misrepresent hunters as
a whole.”
Anyone with information about the shooting is
asked to call 1-800-TIPMONT or contact Sgt. Andersen
at 406-366-2447. Callers can remain anonymous and
may be eligible for rewards of up to $1,000. Additional
reward money may also be available from private groups
and Crime Stoppers.
