Topic Unit 9: The Holidays
Duration
Method 1. Teacher shows few flags to the pupils. All the flags
represent the states in Malaysia.
2. Teacher tells her experiences of travelling around
Malaysia and overseas.
3. Then, the teacher will choose few pupils to share their
experiences about travel during holidays.
4. Teacher then introduce the topic they are going to learn,
“The Holidays”.
5. The teacher explains to the pupils the correct way to
share experiences by using simple past tense. For
example: “Last holidays, I went to ……”
6. The teacher then gives examples of common and proper
nouns to the pupils. For examples: Cameron Highland is
a proper noun and strawberry is a common noun.
7. Teacher then divides the pupils into group of 5. Each
group will be given an instruction paper.
8. Each group is given a situation. They have to discuss
and role play their ideas about the situation given.
9. They have to include the lesson for that day: simple past
tense, common and proper nouns in their performance.
10. Examples of situation given to each group:
Group A – Fahmi and his family is on their way to Pantai
Merdeka. In the car, they shared about the bad
memories they had when they went to Pantai Port
Dickson last year.
Group B – Nisa and her friends are talking about their
places they went during last school holidays.
Group C – Tiara is a reporter. She wants to interview 4
traveller who like to travel around the world. The 4
travellers will share their experiences about different
countries they had visited.
