SUBJECT : Academic Honesty Contract

Dear Explorers Families,

Academic honesty is an important element of learning in a classroom whether in the traditional

setting or online distance learning. The primary reason academic dishonesty is unacceptable in a school
situation is that the teacher is deprived of information needed to help the student learn. It is also
unacceptable in the larger view as it is basically dishonest and subtracts from the personal integrity of
any students involved. If a student is ever concerned about an action, it is best to ask the teacher for
guidance.

Please read and sign the contract below.

ACADEMIC HONESTY CONTRACT

I. On Synchronous Learning
1. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will not coach in
any form, whisper answers to their son/daughter/ward;
2. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will not do the
given tasks on their own for the benefit of their son/daughter/ward;
3. During classes, both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student may
only explain the question for thorough understanding. Answering of the reflection and other
tasks must be done by their son/daughter/ward;
4. The assistance of both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student
will be limited only to technical concerns and the like;
5. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will allow their
son/daughter/ward to do the tasks on their own/independently as part of their formation;
II. On Asynchronous Learning
6. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will not answer any
task on their son/daughter/ward’s behalf;
7. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will ensure that
their son/daughter/ward will not commit plagiarism, i.e. copy from other student’s answered
tasks unless required, take ideas or information created without due reference to the rightful
owners;
8. The assistance of both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student at
home regarding the accomplishment of assigned tasks (performance tasks, formative
assessments, seatwork, drills, quizzes, etc.) will be limited only to technical concerns and the
like;
III. On Monthly Quiz/ Preliminary Examinations/ Quarter Examinations
10. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will help in
maintaining the silence, and in observing the guidelines while taking the Monthly
Quiz/Preliminary/ Quarter Examinations;
11. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will ensure no
learning materials such as notebook, book, learning playlist/packet, worksheets nor
tabs/windows in the internet related to the learning competencies being tested will be opened.
No unauthorized possession relative to the quiz/examination should also be ensured while their
sons/daughters/ward are taking the the Monthly Quiz/Preliminary/ Quarter Examinations. The
possession of the aforementioned materials, whether the student actually used them or not is a
violation;
12. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will not help, guide
nor make non-verbal communication/gestures to their son/daughter/ward while their sons/
daughters/ward are taking the Monthly Quiz/Preliminary/ Quarter Examinations;
13. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will not let
somebody take the Monthly Quiz/Preliminary/ Quarter Examination on one’s behalf. If the
parties involved are students, both are liable;

14. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student will help the school
in instilling in their son/daughter/ward the value of honesty and integrity at all times;
15. Both parents/guardians/other persons assisting in the studies of the student fully understand
that the following provisions are part of the student’s preparation for other and future academic
responsibilities and formation of becoming a good Christian and upright citizen;
16. Violation of the provisions of the Academic Honesty Contract Form will merit appropriate
disciplinary and academic sanctions as stated in the handbook.
