Internet or technology addiction is defined as a situation in which an addict feels

deprivation when he or she is not able to get technological material which he or she is
addicted to as other addictions. Are there any risks of addiction? Technology addiction leads
to multidimensional risks by leading to emotional impairments such as anxiety and
depression, triggering physical impairments, and inducing social impairments in human
relations.
Technology addiction causes emotional injuries such as anxiety and depression.
Technologically addicted people need technology to fill the void caused by addiction, and if
they can’t fill this void, they start feeling anxiety and depression. According to the research
conducted by Swedish scientists, %65 of technologically addicted people need technology to
feel happy. To summarize, Technology addiction can harm people in an emotional way.
Technology addiction also causes physical injuries as pain in some parts of the body
and visual impairment. Backache and headache may be the sign of the technology addiction
because they are most common injuries that can be seen in technologically addicted people.
Technology addiction also causes visual impairment. Technologically addicted people suffer
from blurred or stained vision. According to the results of the research conducted by the
University of Arizona, %70 technologically addicted people in America wear glasses. To sum
up, technology addiction causes physical impairments such as backache and headache, and
visual impairment.
Technology addiction induces social impairments in human relations such as social
isolation. Technology addiction causes lack of bond to people. So, technologically addicted
people keep away from other people. For example, technologically addicted people use their
mobile phone during dinner because they want to avoid from face to face communication. In
short, technology addiction causes social harm in human relations like social isolation.
To sum up, technology addiction has a bad influence on human life as affecting
human emotionally which causes anxiety and feeling them depressed, physically as
headaches, backaches and even visually, and socially by isolating them from other people.
Unfortunately, people will be technologically addicted unless we limit the usage of
technology.
