Title : Charity Run 2018

SMJK Jit Sin annual Charity Run for 2018 was held on 23 th September 2018. This event was
originally scheduled to start at 6.30 a.m. but the flag-off only took place at 7 a.m. due to the rain.
The run started and ended at the school field.

The purpose of Charity Run 2018 is to raise funds for the local orphanage. Participants were
charged about RM15 registration fee which includes goodies bag and a t-shirt. The entire route of
the run was about 6 kilometres. A total of 578 students took part in the event. Andrew Tan from
class 5S1 came out first, followed by Lim Boon Keat from 5C1, and the second runner-up was
Chin Yu Yao form 5S3. The winners were awarded with medals and hampers by the President of
the Parent-Teacher Association, Dato’ Lim Kah Chong.

However, there were some incidents happened throughout the run. Two participants had lost
their belongings. Both of them left their bags beside the school field although they were being
reminded by the organisers not to do so. Participants were advised to leave their belongings at the
counter beside the school hall which was in charge by students on duty. Luckily there was only
small amounts of money and some snacks being stole. Besides from that, some students also
being suffered from minor injuries such as muscle cramps due to they did not do warm-up exercise
before the run.

From this year's event, it is clear that as the organizer of this event, there still some
improvements need to be carried out. For example, more refreshment stands should be set up
throughout the route of the run. In short, the Charity Run 2018 ended with a good ending.
