In an effort to promote camaraderie, sportsmanship, and a healthy lifestyle, the Faculty of

Engineering, Built Environment, and Information Technology (FoEBEIT) at SEGi University organized
an exhilarating Badminton Tournament. This event, spearheaded by the industrious IT students,
aimed not only to provide a platform for badminton enthusiasts to showcase their skills but also to
strengthen the sense of community within the SEGi family.

Inclusivity and Unique Format

One of the standout features of this tournament was its inclusive nature. Open to both SEGians and
non-SEGians, the event attracted participants from diverse backgrounds, fostering a spirit of unity
and shared passion for badminton. Unlike traditional competitions, the mixed singles format allowed
male and female players to compete together, breaking away from conventional norms and
promoting gender inclusivity.

Registration and Prizes

Registration for the tournament was facilitated through an efficient Google Forms system, enhancing
accessibility for interested participants. The organizing committee also embraced modern technology
by incorporating a QR code on the poster, streamlining the registration process further. With a cap of
16 participants, the tournament ensured a manageable scale for optimal player experience.

The stakes were high, with a cash prize of RM100 for the winner and RM50 for the first runner-up. All
participants received badges as souvenirs, and thanks to a generous sponsor, two cans of Celcius
drinks were provided, adding a refreshing touch to the competitive atmosphere.

Event Day Logistics

The Multipurpose Hall (MPH) at SEGi University was transformed into a badminton battleground as
the organizing committee diligently set up the venue. The meticulous preparation included arranging
stands, hanging badminton nets, and designating areas for judges. The tournament bracket was
displayed prominently, and a well-stocked registration counter featuring sponsored buntings and
drinks awaited the participants.

At 1 pm, the Student Experience Office officers added the finishing touches by setting up the
microphone and sound system. The dynamic roles were assigned, with an emcee, registration
officers, and a sound system handler ensuring the smooth flow of the event.
