1. Invitation:
“Chess Association Nagpur ”has the honour to invite all Chess Players from the
State of Maharashtra to participate in the Maharashtra State Under 12 Selection Open &
Girls Chess Championship 2022

2. Recognition:
The championship shall be held under the auspices of All India Chess
Federation, & Maharashtra Chess Association & organized by Chess Association
Nagpur and will serve as selection event for the National Under 12 Chess
Championship 2022

3. Eligibility Criteria:
Only the players apt in to the following conditions are eligible to play the said chess
championship.
• Born on and after - 1st January 2010
• Covid 19 rule - Mask & Sanitizer Mandatory
• Each District Association is entitled to field 2 players in Open & 2 in Girls in
each of the Under 12 category .
• As per the Govt. of India guidelines /rules, players with PIO/ OCI documents
cannot participate in any selection tournaments like Districts / State Selections &
National Championships, which ultimately will lead to the selection of Indian
National Team.
• ‘Selected Player’ means the player selected from the respective District
Selection Events. Besides the above, the District Associations may enter an
unlimited number of players as a Donor Entry.
4. Selection of Maharashtra Team:
• Top 2 boys and Top 2 girls from each age group will be selected to represent
Maharashtra State in forthcoming National Chess Championship for the
Same Age Group.

5. Date of Birth Certificates:

• Each participant must produce a valid certificate to prove his / her age. School
ID card / Aadhar Card won’t be accepted as DOB proof. Certificates should
preferably be from the Panchayat, Municipality or Corporation obtained soon
after birth. Players without date of birth certificates will not be allowed to
participate.
• The date of birth certificates registered within one year of the birth of the
child alone will be recognized and allowed to participate. No state association
shall recommend any player who doesn’t come under the above criteria.
• If any doubt arises about the claimed age of a player, the Tournament
Committee has the right to refer the player during the championship for a
due evaluation of age by competent medical experts. A player if declared
over-age by such experts shall not continue in the championship and the
matter shall be reported to AICF. Protest about the age of players may be
made to the Chief Arbiter in writing along with a fee of 5000/- per player. This
will not be refunded. No Protest about over age of a player will be entertained
after 2nd round of the championship.

6. Dress Code :
• Participants shall be well dressed during the course of the all the State
Selection Chess Championship.

7. Registration & Entry fee:

• District Selected Player: Rs. 800/-

• Doner Entry: Rs. 1,500/-

The above Schedule is subject to change. Final Schedule shall be displayed

in tournament hall.

9. AICF Registration:
• All participants in the State Championship should be registered with AICF for
the year 2021-22. Online AICF Registration is available in the website
www.aicf.in. Those who have already obtained registration cards from AICF
Website for 2021-22 may be asked to show the copy of the same. No entry will
be accepted without AICF Player’s Registration for 2021-22 and such player’s
will not be paired.

10. System of Play:

• Tournament will be played with 9 rounds Swiss system. The format may be
changed in emergency cases with the discretion of Chief Arbiter &
Tournament Director with Prior Approval from MCA.

11. Tiebreaks:
• The latest tiebreak rules as set by AICF will be enforced in the championship.

12. Time Control:

• Digital Clock 25 minuets each + 05 seconds increment per move from number 1

13. Appeals:
• The Chief Arbiter Decision will be final & binding to all. In case of any
discrepancy, the matter will be handed over to Appeals Committee which will
be formed during the Players’ meeting before the start of First Round.

15. Accommodation:
• The selected players will be given Hostel type free accommodation by the
organizers while the doner entry players need to cater the cost of
accommodation on their own.
