Invitation:
“Gondia District Chess Associa on ” has the honor to invite all Chess Players from the State of Maharashtra
to par cipate in the “Ramesh Vinayakrao Kotwal Memorial Maharashtra State Junior U19 Chess
Championship 2022”.

Recognition:
The championship is held under the auspices of All India Chess Federa on, & Maharashtra Chess Associa on
& organized by Gondia District Chess Associa on and will serve as selec on event for the State of Na onal
Junior U19 Chess Championship 2022.

Selection of MaharashtraTeam
Top 4 boys & Top 4 girls from this age group will be selected to represent Maharashtra State for Na onal Junior
U19 Chess Championship for the same age group. Players par cipa ng in this championship will only be
allowed to par cipate in Na onal Junior U19 Chess Championship 2022.

Eligibility Criteria
Born on or after 01st Jan 2003

All entries should be strictly routed through there respective District Chess Associations affiliated to
MCA. No direct entries shall be entertained in any circumstances.

only the player who take part in this State Championship will be permitted to represent Maharashtra as
Selected/Special entries in the forth coming National Under- 19 Chess Championship. Hence
participation in the State Championship is Compulsory.

Each District Association is entitled to field 4 players in Open & 4 in Girls in each of the Under- 19
category.

Selected Player' means the player selected from the respective District Selection Events. Besides the
above, the District Associations may enter an unlimited number of players as a DonerEntry

Birth Certificates
Each par cipant must produce a valid Birth cer ficate to prove his/her age. School ID card/Aadhar Card
won't be accepted as DOB proof. Birth Cer ficates should preferably be from the Panchayat, Municipal
Council or Corpora on obtained soon a er birth. Players without date of birth cer ficates will not be
allowed to par cipate

The Birth cer ficates registered within one year of the birth of the child alone will be recognized and
allowed to par cipate. No state associa on shall recommend any player who doesn't come under the
above criteria.

If any doubt arises about the claimed age of a player, the Tournament Commi ee has the right to refer the
player during the championship for a due evalua on of age by competent medical experts. A player if
declared over-age by such experts shall not con nue in the championship and the ma er shall be reported
to AICF. Protest about the age of players maybe made to the Chief Arbiter in wri ng along with a fee of
5000/- per player. This will not be refunded. No Protest about over age of a player will be entertained a er
2nd round of the championship.

System of Play
Tournament will be played with 8 rounds Swiss system. The format may be changed to other
system in emergency cases with the discre on of Chief Arbiter & Tournament Director with
Prior approval from MCA & AICF.

Time Control
60 minutes each plus 30 second increment per move from number one.

Tie breaks
The latest ebreak rules as set by AICF will be enforced in the championship.

Appeals
The Chief Arbiter Decision will be final & binding to all. In case of any discrepancy, the ma er
will be handed over to Appeals Commi ee which will be formed during the Players' mee ng
before the start of First Round.

Tournament Committee
The tournament commi ee consis ng of the General Secretary. MCA or his representa ve.
And representa ve from another district to be nominated by the MCA shall decide on all
emergency ma ers.

Withdrawals
A player may withdraw from the tournament at any stage a er informing the Chief Arbiter
in wri ng.

Very Important
During play, a player is forbidden to wear any kind (any type) of wristwatch or to carry a mobile
phone or any electronic device in the playing venue in his pocket/body. If it is evident that a
player had such a device during the game in his pocket or on his/her table even in switch off
mode or ba ery removed; he/she shall lose the game.
The opponent shall win.

Accommodation
The selected players will be given dormitory type free accommoda on by the organizers
while the donor entry players need to cater the cost of accommoda on on their own
