Indonesian people always commemorate the Republic of Indonesia's Independence

Day on August, 17th every year. Ceremonies in various places were held to commemorate
the date of the proclamation. In addition, the celebration of August,17th was also enlivened
by contests to commemorate the struggle of the Indonesian people during the colonial
period, such as panjat pinang, balap karung, makan kerupuk and many other competitions.

To make the participants enthusiastic, usually the committee provides various prizes
for participants who won the competition. This made many people participate in the this
celebration. This celebrations were enlivened not only by children, but also teenagers and
even elderly people. Various tribes, races, religions, groups certainly participate in this
annual celebration.

Sekolah Global Mandiri Jakarta also celebrate the 74th independence day of the
Republic of Indonesia, by holding a competition for students, in addition to also holding
competitions for teachers, employees and outsourcing within the Sekolah Global Mandiri
Jakarta. The types of competitions carried out were lomba yel-yel, balap karung, estafet
baju, sumpit bola pimpong, and tiup bola. The number of participants is approximately 143
participants who are randomly divided into 8 groups and each group has 13 or 14
participants.

To make it more colorful, each group wore a different costume color in each group,
from the overall competition the red team won first place, the white team took the second
place and the blue team took the third place. And the competition was closed with suave
and awarding for the winners.

 Beside to hone dexterity, the competition also showed the spirit of cooperation and
also built a team strategy. But the most important thing is the competition without any
hostility.
