 One day, Dadon was sitting at the kitchen
table, watching her mother cook. Amma got the
cooker ready. “Dadon, please give me the peas,”
Amma said.
 ཉིན་ཞིག་ཟླ་སྒྲོན་ཐབ་ཚང་གི་ཅོག་ཙེ་འགྲམ་དུ་བསྡད་དེ།

ཨ་མས་ཟ་མ་བཟོ་བཞིན་པར་བལྟས། ཨ་མས་སྣོད་ཆས་གྲ་

སྒྲིག་བྱས་ཏེ། “ཟླ་སྒྲོན། ང་ལ་སྲན་མ་སྤྲོད་རོགས།” ཞེས་བཤད།

 Dadon took a bowl of dried peas from the kitchen table and gave it to
Amma. One pea fell out of the bowl. Dadon and Amma did not see it!
 ཟླ་སྒྲོན་གྱིས་སྲན་མ་སྐམ་པོས་ཁེངས་པའི་ཕོར་བ་ཞིག་ཅོག་

ཙེ་ཐོག་ནས་ཡར་བླངས་ཏེ། ཨ་མ་ལ་སྤྲད། སྲན་མ་གཅིག་ཕོར་

བའི་ཕྱི་ལ་ལྷུང་། ཟླ་སྒྲོན་དང་ཨ་མས་སྲན་མ་དེ་མཐོང་མེད།

 The pea bounced on the table,
onto the floor... and rolled under
the table. The cat found it. She
pushed it. She pawed at it. She
tried to lick it.
 སྲན་མ་དེ ་ ཅོ ག ་ཙེ ་ ཐོ ག ་ནས་ལྡི ང ས་ནས་ཐང་ལ་ལྷུང་

ཞིང་། དེ་ནས། འཁོར་ནས་ཅོག་ཙེ་འོག་ཏུ་སོང་། ཞི་མིས་དེ་

རྙེད་སོང་། ཞི་མིས་དེ་དེད་ཅིང་། སྡེར་མས་དེར་བྲད། ལྕེ་

ཡིས་དེར་ལྡག་རྩིས་བྱས།

 The pea rolled to the kitchen
door. The cat pushed it again. It
rolled out... and into the garden.
 སྲན་མ་དེ་འཁོར་ནས་ཐབ་ཚང་གི་སྒོ་ཁར་སོང་། ཞི་མིས་

སླར་ཡང་དེ་ལ་ཐུག་པས། སྲན་མ་དེ་འཁོར་ནས་ལྡུམ་རའི་

ནང་དུ་སོང་།

 A sparrow saw the pea. She pecked at it with her beak. But it was
too hard. She pecked at it again. With a jump, the pea landed on the
soil, near a tomato plant.
 ཁང་བྱེའུ་ཞིག་གིས་སྲན་མ་དེ་མཐོང་ནས་དེ་ལ་མཆུ་འཐོག་

བརྒྱབ། ཡིན་ན་ཡང་། དེ་ནི་ཧ་ཅང་མཁྲེགས་པོ་ཞིག་རེད།

ཁང་བྱེའུ་ཡིས་སླར་ཡང་དེ་ལ་མཆུ་འཐོག་བརྒྱབ། སྲན་མ་དེ་

འཕར་ལྡིང་ཞིག་བྱས་ཏེ། ཀྲུ་མ་ཀྲོའི་རྩི་ཤིང་ཞིག་གི་འགྲམ་གྱི་

ས་ཐོག་ཏུ་བབས།

 An earthworm popped out of the ground. It looked at
the pea, but did not find it interesting. It popped back
into the ground. Now there was a hole in the ground!
The pea slipped into the hole, and got covered by loose
mud. It rested in the cool, dark soil.
 ས་འབུ་ཞིག་སའི་ཕྱི་ལ་ཡོང་ཞིང་། དེས་སྲན་མ་དེར་བལྟས། ཡིན་

ན་ཡང་། སྲན་མ་དེ་དང་བ་འདྲེན་པ་ཞིག་ཏུ་མ་མཐོང་བས། ས་འབུ་

དེ་སླར་ཡང་སའི་ནང་དུ་འཛུལ། ད་ལྟ་སའི་ནང་དུ་ཨུ་ཁུང་ཞིག་ཡོད་

ལ། སྲན་མ་ཤུད་ནས་དེའི་ནང་དུ་ལྷུང་སྟེ། ས་ལྷུག་ལྷུག་དག་གི་འོག་

ལ་ཤོར། སྲན་མ་དེ་བསིལ་ཤིང་ནག་ཁུང་ཡིན་པའི་ས་རློན་པའི་འོག་

ཏུ་ངལ་གསོས།

 The days passed. The rains came. The pea got wet.
It swelled, and it swelled a little more. It grew a tail,
and a crown.
 དེ་ནས། ཉིན་མང་པོ་ཞིག་འདས། ཆར་བ་བབས། སྲན་མ་དེ་

རློན་པ་ཆགས། དེ་སྦོས་སོང་། དེ་ད་དུང་མང་ཙམ་སྦོས་སོང་།

དེ་ལ་རྔ་མ་ཞིག་སྐྱེས་ཤིང་། མགོ་ཞིག་ཐོགས།

 The crown shot out of the ground, and tried to
reach for the sun.
It grew taller... and taller ... and taller !
 མགོ་དེ་སའི་ཕྱི་ལ་སྐྱེས་ནས་ཡོང་སྟེ། ཉི་མ་ལ་སྙོབ་ཐབས་

བྱས། དེ་སྐྱེས་ནས་ཇེ་རིང་ནས་ཇེ་རིང་དུ་གྱུར།

 Dadon saw it when she was playing in the garden.
“Amma! Look here!” she said. “A pea plant!” said
Amma. Both of them looked at the pea plant. They
were surprised.
 ཟླ་སྒྲོན་ལྡུམ་རའི་ནང་དུ་རྩེ་བཞིན་པའི་སྐབས། ཁོ་མོས་སྲན་

མའི་རྩི་ཤིང་དེ་མཐོང་སྟེ། “ཨ་མ། འདི་ལ་ལྟོས་དང་།” ཞེས་བཤད།

ཨ་མས། “དེ་ནི་སྲན་མའི་རྩི་ཤིང་ཞིག་རེད།” ཅེས་བཤད། མ་

སྨད་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་སྲན་མའི་རྩི་ཤིང་ལ་བལྟས། མ་སྨད་གཉིས་ཡ་

མཚན་སྐྱེས།

 “Did you plant it?” Amma asked Dadon. “No Amma, did you not
sow it?” asked Dadon. “Then, who did it?” they wondered. Finally,
they knew who planted it.
 ཨ་མས་ཟླ་སྒྲོན་ལ། “ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་སྲན་མ་འདི་བཏབ་པ་ཨེ་ཡིན།”

ཞེས་དྲིས། ཟླ་སྒྲོན་གྱིས། “ཨ་མ། མིན། ངས་བཏབ་པ་མིན། ཁྱེད་

ཀྱིས་བཏབ་པ་མིན་ནམ།” ཞེས་དྲིས། “དེས་ན། སུས་སྲན་མ་

འདིའི་ས་བོན་བཏབ་པ་ཡིན་ནམ།” ཞེས་མ་སྨད་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་

བསམ་བློ་བཏང་སྟེ། མཐའ་མར་སུ་ཡིན་པ་ཤེས་སོང་།

1. Plant a seed in a small pot and water it every day.
2. Does it grow if you keep the pot in a dark and cool place?
3. Many sprouted seeds and grains are very good for our health.
4. Which sprouts do you like to eat?

༣ མྱུ་གུ་འབུས་པའི་ས་བོན་དང་འབྲུ་རིགས་ནི། ང་ཚོའི་འཕྲོད་བསྟེན་ལ་ཡག་པོ་ཡོད།
