(Reaction Paper)

The story of Dr. Jose Rizal isn’t new to us, right? We’ve all heard about him, actually
it was taught us since we’re in elementary until now. Almost everyone knows what are the
biggest contribution of Jose Rizal in our country and why’s everyone calling him as our
national hero. Through this movie, seems like it serves as a reminder and to enlighten me
more about what our national hero have done for our country. This movie captivated my
heart and made me admire more to Jose Rizal, for sacrificing his own life for our country.

I’m impressed to Cesar Montano for an excellent and well played of his character as
a lead role Jose Rizal in the movie. The movie covers the life story of Rizal even his
professions and as a son, brother, lover and friend. It tells how Jose Rizal became a national
hero. Just like what we’ve heard Jose Rizal became a famous national hero because of his
different way of fighting against Spaniards administration. He didn’t use any use sharp
weapons, or any weapons like a gun, sword instead he use his mind and pen as his weapon
against those people who wants to colonize our nation. His masterpiece such as the novel
he wrote “Noli me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo” serves as a reflection of the lives of the
Filipino during those time where in fact there were a lot of discrimination and ruthless
treatment in Filipino during that period.

 I truly admired Jose Rizal for his bravery not for strength but for the confidence he
had to write all those devilish acts of Spaniards and spread it to the world. And I am
grateful because he is one of the reason why we have freedom right now. The freedom to
talk, to write and fly that no one can dictate you except yourself. And of course we are lucky
that we didn’t suffer the ruthless treatment of the Spaniard before.
