in Colombia?
R/ For me, what the image is trying to say about democracy in Colombia, since it was
established as a republic, has had very disappointing results, since it continues at the

congress, governors, departmental assemblies, and municipal mayors, all elected by
popular vote.

R/ There is a lot of corruption in Colombia because the developing country but with
democratic pretensions -or where the legitimacy of the authorities is based on its
popular election. In a country like this, poverty is abundant and it is not easy to provide
the necessary education for most people to exercise a critical or deliberative
citizenship. Majorities are limited to seeking their individual or family subsistence,
interest in collective assets is very limited, and voting becomes a potential source of
income for people. This is the ideal breeding ground for corruption in the form of
patronage, patronage, and vote buying and selling.

b) To what extent, corruption problems are related to democracy

in Colombia?
R/ Corruption is undoubtedly not a new problem, however the acts of corruption that
we are witnessing today are much more complex than before since they involve a wide
variety of actors, are carried out in an agile manner by means of techniques that are
difficult to prevent and trace, and generate far-reaching impacts. broader questions
about society, democracy, human rights and the economy. Transparency International
has called these situations "great corruption", understood as the abuse of high-level
power that benefits a few at the expense of many, causes very serious and widespread
damage to the entire society and individuals, and which usually remains in impunity
