Dr. Shane Farnsworth has been announced as the new superintendent of Alpine School District. He currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Operations and has over 22 years of experience in various roles within the district. Dr. Farnsworth received his Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees from Brigham Young University, where his doctoral research focused on trust relationships between teachers and administrators.

“My appointment as superintendent of schools is a humbling honor and privilege. I am excited for the opportunity to collaboratively work with our dedicated employees and Board of Education in serving the students, families and communities of Alpine School District.” Dr. Farnsworth currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Operations for Alpine School District and has twenty-two years of experience in the district as a classroom teacher, school level principal, and district administrator of 7-12 schools. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Classical Studies and his Master and Doctorate of Education Degrees in Educational Leadership from Brigham Young University. The focus of his doctoral studies was trust relation- ships between teachers and administrators. His research was published in the September 2019 edition of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) Bulletin journal. He has also been an adjunct profes- sor at Brigham Young University and Southern Utah University in leadership preparation pro- grams. Additionally, he has chaired the state of Shane is married to Meri Ann Farnsworth. They are the parents of Utah School Accreditation Council and served six children who have all attended or currently attend schools in for several years as a lead evaluator of schools the Alpine School District.
