The scope and purpose of this document is to ensure the quality of stones to be used for
shore protection work and rock fill for soil improvement works for the RUSIZI Port
project as per contract No: PO/20191063 “Civil works for construction of Port facilities
at Rusizi, Lake Kivu”. BOQ ITEM No (401) Stone 10 to 60 kg

The elaboration and implementation of this procedure is intended to ensure that product
final quality is achieved, thus satisfying contractual and legal requirements and Client
expectations.

7. QUALITY ASSURANCE
Quality Control Data

Quality control for materials and workmanship shall be performed throughout the
entire Work, strictly following the specification.

Sampling

For each of the different construction materials, before the first delivery is made to
site, the following sampling is required:
 Representative samples of all material grading classes shall be tested at initial stage
to check and ensure that the material fulfils quality requirement as per Table-I .
 The third party tested certificates for rock boulders will be submitted through MAR .

Intermediate testing ( If Necessary)

 Incase if Engineer has doubt in the quality of the material during execution of work,
selected test by Engineer in charge from Table-I will be done to ensure the quality of
the material.
