Parents’ Orientation Meeting

Last June 15, 2018, Parents’ Orientation was conducted at Our Lady of La Porteria Academy. This was
the first meeting which was held with the parents. The program starts at 8:05 in the morning at the assembly
area of the campus. The opening prayer was led by Teacher Hannah Christia Romero and afterwards the
Pambansang Awit led by Sir Jeffrey E. Riva. Everyone was welcomed by Teacher Karen Compañero, the SHS
Academic Coordinator by her welcome message. Afterwards, teacher Malou, the School Director gave her
message. After the program, the parents proceed to their respective rooms.
In Grade 12 HUMSS, 20 parents attended the parent’s meeting. It was started by introduction of self by
the adviser, Sir Edwin. The parent’s also introduced themselves during the meeting. Majority of the parents
agreed to appoint Mrs. Nueca as chairman and Mr. Pempeña as vice-chairman.
After the election, the adviser discussed the agenda of the meeting more particularly with regards to the
school rules and regulations. One parent raised a question regarding the absent/tardiness policy of the school.
Also, a question was raised regarding the books of Senior High School students. The adviser pointed out that
students are not required to buy books and will depend on a particular subject.
The adviser opened the homeroom project to the parents particularly the need for a printer. The adviser
pointed out that since the students will be doing a research before they graduate, the printer is utmost beneficial
for them. With the convincingly statements of the adviser, it was unanimously decided to purchase a new
printer for the class. The contribution will due on July 26, 2019. The meeting ended at 10:01 am.
