COUNTABLE NOUNS: Things you can count in english. Tienen singular y plural. En singular
llevan A (si empieza CON CONSONANTE) o AN (si empieza con VOCAL) adelante  A banana,
AN apple, potatoES.

UNCOUNTABLES: Estan siempre en SINGULAR. Nunca van con A o AN adelante. Ej  Brad,


butter, cheese, rice, chocolate

AMBOS En oraciones afirmativas se usan con  SOME y en oraciones negativas con ANY

Ej: “I haven`t got any bread (Unc.)/apples (Count)” (-)

“we have some bread/apple”s (+)

“Have we got any bread/ apples?” (?)

QUANTIFIERS:

Para los contables se usa MANY y para los incontables MUCH. EJ How many apples do you
eat? (COUNTABLE) // How much bread do you eat? (UNCOUNTABLE)

Y PARA AMBOS SE USA: A lot/ Lots = mucho – Quite a lot = bastante- None= nada

Not much= no mucho (inc) – Not many= no mucho (contable)

PARA ORDENAR EN EL RESTAURANTE: Siempre se empieza con Could I/ Can I HAVE (lo
que queres pedir) y se termina siempre con PLEASE

Ej Can I have some bread please?

Sino I’d have some bread please.

UNIDAD 6: EL PASADO SIMPLE

Verbo to be (ser o estar)  WAS & WERE

You- We- They  WERE (+) / WEREN’T (-). EJ: You were happy yesterday. Vos ESTABAS feliz
ayer.

I-He- She- It  WAS (+) / WASN’T (-). EJ: She was sad last night. Ella ESTABA triste anoche.

Las preguntas de was y were siempre empiezan con WAS/WERE y se responden empezando
con YES or NO.

Ej WERE YOU happy yesterday? YES WE WERE/ NO WE WEREN’T

WAS SHE sad last night? YES SHE WAS/ NO SHE WASN’T

VERBOS EN PASADO:

REGULARES: se les agrega ED al final ej: walk= walked o solo la D si ya terminan con “e” ej:

EJ: I lived 2 years in Canada.

IRREGULARES: Cambia la `palabra completamente. Hay que aprenderlos de memoria :/


GO= WENT – COME= CAME- DO=DID – HAVE= HAD – ETC EJ: I went to the cinema yesterday.

Para hacer preguntas en pasado se necesita el auxiliar DID. Hay 2 tipos: Las de respuesta corta
(YES or NO) empiezan siempre con DID+ el sujeto+ verbo en infinitivo+ el coplemento (lo que
se quiere preguntar)  Did you go to the cinema yesterday? Yes I did.

2do tipo son las preguntas elaboradas que siempre empiezan con una “QUESTION WORD”
(Where-When-What-Who-Why) + auxiliar (DID)+ sujeto+ verbo en infinitivo- EJ: Where did you
go yesterday?
