Subject: English III

At the beginning of the story, the author presents us the main character, Lisa. One day, she arrived home with
a letter saying she was one of the finalists at the short story competition and because of that she would travel
to London one week for free. Also in London, the winner would be known at the end of the trip. Her parents
were happy for her. Then, she went to Heathrow airport where her guide was waiting for her. Diana was her
name and she leads Lisa to the hotel where the rest of the finalists were. When she arrived in the room she
was quite nervous and shy seeing new faces. Suddenly, a friendly girl approached Lisa. Her name was Nadia
and she likes taking photographs as Lisa. That day, the children and Diana went to the tube station and the
Trafalgar Square where Nadia took a picture of Lisa with a pigeon eating from Lisa’s hand. On Tuesday, they
visited London’s Tower and watched the Crown Jewels. Then, the kids were really hungry so they went to a
restaurant to have lunch. After lunch, Lisa realized she didn’t have her camera any more. She felt sad and the
rest of kids too because they get on well with her. Sergio offered to take pictures for Lisa and she accepted but
still upset. The next day, they went to the Madame Tussaud’s Museum which is a waxworks museum. Inside
of this, they saw some famous people and horror wax statues. On Thursday, all went to Harrods which is a
very big and famous store. The children bought some souvenirs. Lisa choose a dress. The following day, at
night, they all assisted to a theatre performance. But that reminded Lisa of her lost camera because she
couldn’t take photos for the wonderful performance. On Saturday, the kids visited the London Zoo. They saw
a snake but Nadia wasn’t afraid. They also watched some monkeys. This is probably the funniest part of their
journey because one of the monkeys was throwing nuts to one of the girls. Until this part of the story, they all
were having fun but one girl felt sad remembering that the next day was the last day in London. Nadia tried to
cheer her up reminding her that the next day would be the final and that was exciting. The long-awaited day
arrived and all the finalists were waiting to know who the winner was. Finally, the judge announced that Lisa
was the winner. The first price was a brand new camera. Lisa was very happy because she could take
photographs again. The next day, the children needed to catch their planes at Heathrow airport. Before that,
they say goodbye to London, to the other kids and Diana. At the end of the story, Lisa was sitting next to the
window of the plane and takes a picture with her new camera while saying goodbye to London.
