FINAL ORAL TASK -20%

TYPE OF TASK: dialogue


ROLES: classmates
PURPOSE: describing the most important or representative places in a city.
PROMPT: you have to prepare a dialogue in which you have to talk about the most important places in a city (a
city that you like or that you have visited). The task requires the following aspects:
1. The task will be in pairs and you will be randomly assigned a classmate the same day the oral task is
programmed.
2. Present and describe the city: the name of the city, the most important places you can find there, the
activities that can be done in those places, and general characteristics of the place (hours of operation of
the place, location, etc.).
3. Mention how you can get to those places (directions).
4. Time assigned: 3 minutes each couple

Communication and content: understand and complete the task
assigned by informing about important places in a city and describing
places; and send messages so the audience is left with no questions.
Fluency: produce a cohesive discourse, use short, mainly pre-
packaged utterances and link them with basic linear connectors and
use an appropriate organization within the sentences that are
according to the level.
Vocabulary: use vocabulary related to describing places, adjectives,
and directions, preposition of place, locations; and use a variety of
word choice to make the dialogue interesting.
Structure: produce the simple present structure when describing
places and activities we do in those places, and use other sentence
structure.
Pronunciation: pronounce and produce intonation patterns of basic
sounds that allow the audience to understand the message without
interfering with the meaning or communication purpose of the task.
