1. Advanced technology and portability have become a trend in the 21st century.
These devices have changed many aspects of the world, whether it be
economically, and conveniently. There are two events that have made a
remarkable impact on this day and age. One is the creation and development of
the internet. When the internet was introduced to the world, people’s way of living
has changed. The internet has provided convenience to our lives. We can find
any information that can be useful for our needs. We can use it for entertainment
like watching videos and play games. And the greatest thing that the internet has
given to us is to connect people even they are far away from each other. The
second event is the creation of the smartphone which is an improved and highly
programmed version of the cellular phone or telephone. Before the phone is used
for texting and calls only, but now we can use it for video calls, taking pictures
and videos, use the internet, and many more. These events have made people’s
lives smooth-sailing for the most part because it makes our life convenient and
how easy it is to access. But these events can be concerning because of the
massive waste it creates which are harmful to our natural riches. These events
are also challenging because of how fast-paced it is and the tight competition of
the businesses.
2. I agree with the changes in the skills requirement described by the author from
2015 to 2020. The basis of my decision is because of these three skill
requirements: Creativity, Critical thinking, and Complex Problem Solving.
Creativity has risen from rank 10 to rank 3. Creativity is a high-demand skill in
employment today because of the innovation of differents things like product,
technologies, strategies, and many more. Critical has risen as well from rank 4 to
rank 2. It is also a high-demand skill because of today’s research and
development industry. In the 21st century, research and development have
become a vital industry in the world for improvement and discovery of different
things. Complex Problem Solving is still in rank 1 from 2015 to 2020. This is a
very important skill in every industry in the world. It is a skill that every business
or field needs because it creates a solution to high-complex problems.
3. Certified Public Accountant is my foreseen profession which is included in the
field of financial and investment. As a Certified Public Accountant, the top 5 skills
needed are 1) Critical Thinking, 2) Complex Problem Solving, 3) Judgment and
Decision-making, 4) Cognitive Flexibility, and 5) Coordinating with others. Critical
thinking is a top needed skill for CPAs because analyzation is a vital practice in
 the field. Determining every financial transaction the company has made and
create a report for the people who will need it. Complex problem solving is a top
second needed skill because CPAs are the ones who will supervise the financial
records of the company and solve the financial problems. Judgment and
Decision-making is my third topmost skill because CPAs should know how to
determine good financial transaction and identify mistakes that can cause major
problems. CPAs should have cognitive flexibility because of the continuously
changing environment of money like stock rates, business laws, tax laws, and
standards of accounting. CPAs should also be coordinating with others because,
in the field, we work with different teams and individuals.
4. I should be flexible, continue to learn, and able to adapt and accept changes in
the environment to be able to keep up with the fast-paced and changing
generation, especially with my chosen profession in the future. With the changes
happening in the surrounding that can affect the nature of my work, I should
know how to adapt and accept it for my own benefit. I will make sure to be a fast
learner and provide the result that is demanded. As an individual to survive the
ever-changing environment, people should condition and acquire new skills to be
able to keep up with the world.
