PROJECT PLANNING
I. 5 POSSIBLE HEALTH PROBLEMS OF THE COMMUNITY
1. First, one of the 5 possible health problems in the community are wound infections.
They don't have a source of clean water, and the nearest health center is over a
kilometer away and within the geographic are of the next barangay. The average earns
of each family per month are 10,000 pesos only, disinfectant solution is not a priority
for them.
2. The second health problems of the community is the Dengue. There is no piped-in
water system in the community, water is only drawn from the deep wells so each
household has its own water containers for storage in which the dengue mosquito lays
its eggs on the walls of water- filled containers, that also causes the dengue infection
of the community members.
3. The third health problem of the community is the Asthma. Barangay Liwanag is the
farthest location in kapayapaan province and the road is not in good condition as well,
it can be dusty and not easily accessible but because of the expensive transportation
they tend to just walk no matter how far and this also might triggered the condition of
the community members with asthma.
4. The fourth health problem of the community is Pneumonia, due to the difficulty to
maintain satisfactory sanitation in the area, and most specially due to mothers not
allowing their children to be vaccinated, pneumonia is one of the leading cause of
mortality in barangay liwanag, thus becoming one of the major health problem in the
community.
5. And lastly, the fifth health problem of the community is the Urinary tract infection or
UTI due to no piped-in water system or a clean water in the community and there are
a lot of food vendors that sell artificial sweetener to the school that can all cause UTI
to the community members.
