Medical Action Myanmar (MAM) is a medical aid organization, our mission is to improve access to
quality health care for all people in Myanmar. MAM provides large-scale access to prevention,
diagnosis & treatment of HIV, Malaria, Tuberculosis and we provide Basic Health Care. We train over
1800 volunteer Village Health Workers in diagnostic testing and supply them with diagnostics and
treatments. A basic health care package is provided to deal with the most common diseases, including
a referral system for complicated cases. Furthermore we do screening and referrals of suspected TB
cases and treatment follow-up of confirmed TB cases. In terms of HIV prevention and treatment
activities, MAM is running 10 HIV clinics in Yangon, Karen, Mon and Kachin states. MAM employees
over 700 staff in Myanmar.

VACANCY FOR: TEAM LEADER/MEDICAL DOCTOR - CLINIC


Reports to: Operation Officer (HIV)
Job location: Hpakant (Kachin State)

Description of the vacant position;

Key Objectives and Responsibilities in general;


 Responsible for taking care and consultation of all the adults with HIV/AIDS, STD, TB,
pregnant and others and also responsible for the treatment and care of children patients
with HIV/AIDS, TB and malnutrition at MAM satellite clinic
 Organize and participate in ART team meetings together with counselors, outreach workers
and nurses.
 Participate in mobile team visit together with prevention team members
 Training of Nurses, counselors, Health Educators and Outreach Workers for HIV, ART, STD
and TB as necessary
 Support to counselor, and outreach workers.
 Discuss actively in case discussions with Technical coordinator, PMCs, other team leaders for
the management of complicated HIV and other patients.
 Facilitate PLHA group discussion.
 Responsible for monthly data entry and reporting.
 Close collaboration with National AIDS Program, National TB Program, and government
officials
 Represent MAM and maintain organizational core values

HR responsibilities
 To monitor the performance of all the staff from the clinic as the clinic team leader
 To discuss any issue with project coordinator, operation officer and HR office.

Financial responsibilities
 Control clinic monthly expenses and make settlement every month

Logistical responsibilities
 Responsible for clinic logistical procedures (inventory, small maintenances, transport of
drugs, clinic stuffs and blood, etc) together with Yangon HIV Logistician.
 Other tasks as necessary.

MAM requires:
To be successful in this role you must have:
Education : Qualified medical doctor with registration card (SAMA)
Experience : Previous working experience in HIV/AIDS and related field is preferable
Computer skills: Computer literate in MS Office Package
Language : Good in English
Specifications : Good attitude towards the patients and drug users, Interest and motivation to
work and care for PWIDs, motivate and flexible to learn the new things, ability to
work independently, provide prompt and accurate data collection and reporting,
ability to work under demanding work environments, excellent inter-personal
skills and non-judgmental attitude among the team.

MAM offers:
 Salary depending on experiences starting from 890,000 MMK (on a 12 months basis)
