I. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:


1. Recall the meaning of Fruit Carving
2. Perform how to make fruit carving by following the steps
3. Value the importance of fruit carving

II. SUBJECT MATTER: FRUIT CARVING ( Banana Octopus, Pineapple Boat, Apple
Swan)

III. TEACHING AND DEVICES: MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION, HANDOUTS,


LESSON PLAN, SAMPLE OF FRUIT CARVING

 Art- use of the talent for creative work.
 Wedge- a flat piece of an object that has a wedge shape.
 Wiggle- to move or go with short, quick irregular movements from side to side.

B. PRESENTATION (Demonstration Method)

The teacher will demonstrate the following:

STEPS IN FRUIT CARVING.

Banana Octopus

Procedure:

1. Cut the stem off the banana. Then peel it half way down from the
top in 4 sections.
2. Cut the top half of the banana. Leave the bottom half of the banana in its peel.

3. To create 8 arms, use knife to split each of the 4 sections of the peel in half.

4. For the face, choose the flattest side of the banana. Make the eyes into the skin and wiggling it
around to create two holes, then insert the black pepper seeds as eyes into each hole.

Pineapple Boat
Procedure:
1 .Cut unpeeled fruit lengthwise into four or eight equal parts
including the crown and skin.
2. Slice fruit from skin, keeping skin intact.
3. Slice fruit again crosswise into four or five parts.
4. Let stand on its shell when serving.

Apple Swan

Procedure:
1. Halve the apple lengthwise.
2. Cut a wedge on one side of apple half.
3. Do the same to the other side.
4. Cut a smaller wedge from the wedge you just cut so you haves sizes resembling the picture.
Repeat steps 2 and 3.
5. Assemble wedges as seen in the picture and place them on the body. From the square or
rectangle of the apple then remove.
6. Cut off the one side of the apple to make heart shape.
7. Place the knife to the one side of the apple and cut the head. Make sure you cut off the skin of
the side.
8. Place the seed of the apple in the head and press the knife. Then place to the body to have an
apple swan
