Below is a list of services offered by the high school and the community.

1. Student Resource Officer: CCHS has an officer available during school days. Deputy

Ryan Thomas will be here as an extension of the Clay County Sherriff’s Department.

2. AmeriCorops: CCHS now has two AmeriCorp workers available to help with student

needs. Specifically, they are here to help students meet graduation requirements.

3. Student Assistance Team: Students, teachers, parents or anyone who works with

students can request a meeting of the Student Assistance Team if there is concern about

academics, health related issues, attendance concerns, etc. The goal of the team is to

problem solve and come up with solutions to help students be successful.

4. Marissa’s Closet: Provides supplies such as food, clothes, hygiene products, and school

supplies to Clay County Residents, focusing on meeting the needs of CCHS students.

5. The Bridge Program: Students who are in foster or kinship care are eligible to

participate in The Bridge Program. The Bridge offers weekly mentoring, college and

career exploration, and assistance with a variety of resources.

6. Transition for Post-Secondary Activities: CCHS works with the Division of

Rehabilitation Services to assist Seniors who have a disability. DRS can provide services

such as financial assistance for college, mentoring, assistance with housing, etc.

7. Department of Health and Human Resources: DHHR provides help with basic needs

and services such as housing, food, clothing, etc. (304) 587-4268.

9. Wellness Center: Available for all students to see for medical care.

10. 1-844-HELP4WV: Hotline for emotional distress.

11. 2-1-1: United Way is a free and confidential service that helps people find local

resources.
