Standard Summary

Standard 10: School Improvement

“Effective educational act as agents of continuous improvement to promote each student’s

academic success and well-being.” This standard was met by participating in the following

activities.

 Standard Activity 10.42B: For this activity, I met with teachers at Clay County High

School and discussed the newest change of virtual learning. Virtual learning is something

new that teachers are navigating and it has become a huge challenge for them to get

through.

 Standard Activity 10.45C: To complete this activity, I was able to sit in on a leadership

team meeting, The meeting was entirely focused on Covid-19 and how we are adapting to

teaching during a pandemic.

Key Learnings from the Experience

From this experience, I learned that teachers will always make things work, even if they

are struggling. Virtual learning has become a huge issue and is confusing teachers, but they are

still powering through and figuring it out as they go. A big part of this standard experience was

observing how everyone is feeling and dealing with Covid-19. This is unprecedented and has

really changed the way we teach.

Area(s) Needing Further Experience and Improvement

 I would like to officially join the leadership team to have my opinions heard about things

facing the school. I definitely need to become more involved with the school and what is

happening there.
