Overview
Veganism is an easily adopted and widely recognized approach to reducing animal suffering and
environmental damage. The mission of opening a vegan restaurant in Ahmedabad is to make
veganism mainstream. People have an impression that vegan lifestyle is expensive, but it is a myth.
India has culturally been inclined towards vegetarianism since the beginning. Despite Ahmedabad
being a mega city, the people here are much price conscious and take time to accept new things. The
main objective of opening a vegan restaurant in Ahmedabad is to introduce people of Ahmedabad to
healthier food choices. The objective is also to make nutritious products for those passionate about
plant-based diets. In addition to offering vegan meal plans, the aim is to cater to everything from
Jain food, Keto, Paleo, Vegetarian, Omnivore, Gluten-free and Pescatarian to ensure they cater to
everyone looking for delicious healthy food. Another focus is to keep Jain ethics in mind and provide
a healthy cuisine. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, people worldwide are becoming more health
conscious and are also recognising the adverse effects caused by animal agribusiness on the
environment and consumption of meat on their health.

Company Summary
The Vegan Restaurant will operate in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The restaurant will be offering
nutritious and delicious meal plans for those interested in healthy and plant-based diet
alternatives rather than traditional restaurants. The restaurant will provide a fully vegan
menu where meals will be freshly made to cater to the growing demand of healthier meals.
Moreover, patrons will experience a warm and lively ambience with impeccable
consideration to minimal yet bright décor. The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch
and dinner, featuring delicious menu items freshly made to the customers liking. The
restaurant will be open seven days a week from 8am to 11pm.
Target Market
The primary target market for the restaurant is men and women between the ages of 18 and
62 who are residents of Ahmedabad City, Gujarat and surrounding districts. This group
tends to be professional working people and students. 61.80% population of Ahmedabad are
vegetarian. Although vegan and vegetarian consumers will be the primary target, consumers
seeking a healthy alternative to meat and dairy meals will be the secondary target market.
The restaurant will appeal to ages 18 to 62 who are interested in a healthier alternative to
meals that cater not only to Indian, Mexican, Italian and American foods but also authentic
Gujarati cuisine.
Capital Requirements
The restaurant will be seeking close to Rs. 5 lacs to assist build out, grand opening
preparations and enough money to support the first few months of operations. The capital
requirements are considered on basis of:

 Space required for parking: 500 sq.ft

 A google form survey is to be carried out to understand consumer preference of people of
Ahmedabad towards Vegan Food.
 Interview of an already existing Vegan Restaurant of Ahmedabad – The Vegan Kitchen
 After identifying objectives, carrying out situation analysis i.e. Market Analysis, Growth
Strategy, Competitor Analysis and Industry Analysis
 Next step will be to formulate Marketing Strategy, Sales Strategy and strategies that have a
sustainable competitive advantage. These strategies will help in creating a structural
Marketing-Sales Plan and Financial Plan.
