2. Meaning

Science didactics are the different teaching-learning strategies used in natural science class;
These involve dynamic teaching, attractive and appropriate to the learning level of the
students, which must be focused on how to teach and not only on what to teach, it must
include aspects such as research, the development of intelligence rather than memory , the
construction of learning by the student, discovery learning, which should focus on teaching
procedures rather than rules. Also favoring an attitude of curiosity and investigation and
relating the theoretical to the experimental, rather than a mere assimilation of facts. In the
teaching of natural sciences, basic processes such as scientific inquiry, including
observation, interpretation, comparison, interpretation, organization, experimentation,
deduction, application and integration, must be considered. The enrichment of teaching
resources with the use of information and communication technologies must be adapted
quickly and effectively with a minimum of human and material resources.

3. Case Study
Context
The Great Britain School (GBS) is a bilingual school founded upon the values of a truly
international school community. Its aim is to provide a holistic, inclusive, and
academically challenging educational experience through the medium of English.
At GBS students are inspired and prepared for an evolving world. Values such as
leadership, care community, strong academic core, international mindedness, inclusion, and
performing arts, support the day-to-day life of the school and foster intellectually prepared
students who discover and embrace the ideals of global citizenship.
Its curricular approach for the elementary level is The International Primary Curriculum
(IPC) which is an internationally-minded, thematic, cross-curricular and rigorous teaching
structure which helps to provide pupils with a dynamic and progressive understanding of
the world they live in as well as prepare them for their fast paced and ever changing future
life as workers and adults.
Each IPC unit incorporates a range of subjects including Science, History, Geography, ICT,
Art and PE and provides many opportunities to link literacy and numeracy. Each subject
then has several learning tasks to help teachers to help children achieve a range of IPC
learning goals.

Problems:

The school requires three teachers trained in Natural Sciences and English, to teach in high
school, a difficult process since there are no candidates with these competencies. Managers
have chosen to ask if there are teachers who can handle this job, there are several
difficulties:

 Teachers have an advanced level of English, but are not science graduates, so they
lack the knowledge and pedagogical strategies to teach the various branches of
natural gin.
 Other teachers are willing to teach but have only basic knowledge and would do so
in their native language.
 Others refuse to take on such a task.
 Some managers disagree with the training of new teachers.
 Old teachers must assume this responsibility since they could teach science under
the values and policies of the school according to the curricular focus of the
institution.

Analysis
The Great Britain School (GBS), is a school that is based on certain values that tend to an
education that is internationally consistent since its teaching is done through the English
language, which is widely used and spoken worldwide, this the it places at a higher level
than other educational institutions. It also tends to be at the level of the various evolutionary
changes that the world is undergoing and fosters consistent principles of leadership in its
students at a global level. In the same way, it considers the different areas of knowledge to
achieve its learning objectives and the comprehensive training of its students.

The problem arises when they need these three teachers who are trained in Natural Sciences
but also in English. Teachers who have an advanced level of English should have the
opportunity to train in the area of Natural Sciences and also in the teaching strategies of this
area, in this way they could benefit managers who wish to follow the guidelines and values
that the institution and also old teachers who do not have enough preparation, likewise
teachers who are willing to teach but who only have basic knowledge in the area of Natural
Sciences and also have no knowledge of the English language. If teachers who have an
advanced level of English have the support of managers for their training, they will be able
to benefit the educational institution since they will be able to continue with the same
values and objectives of the institution and, moreover, they will be able to apply their
teachings without having to resort to English language learning.
