Profile

I am a hardworking, versatile, reliable individual with a positive mindset. I thrive to become

an enthusiastic individual, eager to learn and to improve myself as well as always wanting to
succeed in everything I attempt.

Currently I am in my final year studying business level 3 at Shipley college. The course is
difficult and takes a lot of time and effort. My time management skills have improved as I
must balance work life with my college work to get both completed to a high standard. A unit
I have really enjoyed was unit 16. Here in the assignments we had to explain and research
everything to do with a business we are interested in such as explaining how they motivate
staff as well as explaining the importance of managing employee performance. On this
assignment I decided to choose JD sports as I work here and already have a large amount
of information on them as well as learning more about the company as they are a large
business with a lot of history, the new information I learned paired with what I already know
allowed me to write a high level, sophisticated assignment. This research task will help me in
the future by allowing me to find out information about companies I will have businesses I
will have interviews or I will work for in the future allowing me to impress the managers.

Skills and Attributes

Excellent time management skills - I have been able to improve these skills by
balancing college work and assignments with my actual job at JD sports. I have been
able to do this through hard work and communication.

Outstanding communication - My communication skills have improved dramatically

through working at JD sports helping many different types of customers. As well as
working at Halfback communicating with children with different needs.

Superb team worker - Working in teams is a common occurrence whether I’m at JD

sports working together to ensure the store is presentable and ready for the next
working day or at College working in teams on many different projects, I always
ensure I pull my weight by staying determined and focused so the task is completed
to a high standard.

Work experience
JD sports - (Currently working there)

Store assistant

Recently I have acquired a job at JD sports, I applied here for a part time role hoping
to become full time. Through dedication and motivation, I managed to impress the
managers enough for them to get the role full time. Here at JD sports it has allowed
me to improve my confidence and communication skills by dealing with different
customers from all backgrounds and undertaking many tasks, some of the tasks
have included:

- Ensuring the store and merchandise looks clean, presentable, and

professional making customers feel more inclined to purchase the products.

- Dealing with many different customers ensuring I provide the best

customer service possible. Dealing with phone calls, enquiries and getting
different products for customers ensures they have a good experience shopping
here motivating them to come back again.

Working at JD sports has improved my assets and skills a lot as I have been pushed
out of my comfort zone and this has allowed me to improve myself. My overall
confidence and communication have improved dramatically as well as my time
management skills. This is because I have learnt to balance my job alongside
college course work. I have found this extremely hard at times as they are both
strenuous and exhausting. This can be very stressful at times however I am
motivated and determined to get them both done.

Hazel beck -Yr. 10 (2018) Teaching assistant

In year 10 I carried out work experience at Hazel back (a school for special
educational needs children). Here I assisted teachers by helping different groups of
children with their basic maths and English as well as other life skills. The groups of
children varied between more capable students and less capable students resulting
in having to adapt to different situations as well as having to quickly apply myself to
maximise the efficiency of these short lessons. As well as teaching, I also helped the
teachers by packing boxes with folders and sorting the children’s books out for the
next school year. My time at Hazel beck was invaluable as it taught many skills such
as being efficient and having to adapt quickly to different situations. Through this
work experience I learnt how to be more aware of different environments as well as
be responsible and reliable by leading small groups of children on my own.
