INTRODUCTION TO THE LEARNING GUIDE

English has become one the most important universal languages spoken around
the world. Colombia government trough MEN has proposed the National
Bilingualism Program, its mains to improve English communicative competence in
all educational levels and to strengthen the national competence throughout
Colombian educational system. Antonio Nariño University, through Spanish and
English Language Program, has established the subject English II to strengthen
students’ oral and written skills. Students will be given the necessary strategies
and techniques to achieve the goal of the course. They will be led to reach
Independent user´s level A2.
This guide is the basic tool to direct the work during the second academic term.

GOALS

This guide aims to strengthen students’ oral and written English language skills
by promoting their communicative competence using teaching methodologies
and strategies that will help them to achieve the proficiency level required for
users A2. It provides cultural, pedagogical, didactic, and technological
guidelines, encouraging learners towards research, autonomous work, and the
use of technology inside and outside the classroom.

November 7th: the teacher will explain the present perfect tense and the
students will do an exercise in the chat about present, past, future and present
perfect by a timeline. Then each student must prepare a timeline to talk about
important facts of his/her life. See the example. This timeline will be socialized
on November the 14th during the class.

November 14th: The students will socialize their timelines and the teacher will
explain some issues about grammar.

November 21st: The teacher will explain comparatives and superlatives and
she will give some directions to present the final exam.

November 28th: Students will exam in Flipgrid

Tutoring

The time assigned to tutoring classes is on Monday since 16:00 to 18:00


If there is any student who can´t attend at this time must ask to the teacher for
schedule the meeting in another moment.

Tutorial Activities

Week 1:
Students who had problems with the exercises are going to work in all mistakes
that they had, teacher will explain it and solve all questions about the review test
topics.
Week 2:
Students will present the exercises again.

technology tools to improve communicative competence to enhance autonomous
and collaborative work.
