The Grand Bazaar – Frequently Asked Questions

As an addendum to the initial conversation that we had on Facebook, we request you to read the
following FAQ’s, so that it may address any and all of your concerns about this venture. Once you are
satisfied, we would want to get information regarding how to get your brand on board to sell on our
platform. Please get back to me with the information I need to go about this. Thank you.

1) Tell us more about your portal?

If you provide an email id or a contact number, I can send you our proposal that includes everything we
are offering. If you have any further questions after that, I'd be happy to answer them for you.

2) How will the products be shipped?

We have two options for shipping.

A) You can choose to ship yourself

B) You may also use the shipping solution provided by us. At this moment, the company is negotiating
with well-reputed shipping companies to provide the best possible shipping experience for both the sellers
and the customers.

3) What payment methods will be used in ‘The Grand Bazaar’ payment methods?

We plan to offer COD, bank payments (credit and debit cards), and easy Paisa, etc.

4) How will, the vendor, get paid, once their product has been sold?
After a customer has received the item, the payment will be transferred to your account.

5) Will the vendor’s items be stocked in The Grand Bazaar’?

No, our e-commerce is employing a drop-shipping model where you upload your catalogue on our
website, a customer likes it, buys it and you ship it (you can use your own shipping or use the solution we
provide).

6) What is company’s policy regarding fake or copied products?

If it's fake or a copy, they are required to put it as a copy. Failure to do so and a customer complaint will
lead to a warning first, the second time there will be a penalty which will be highlighted in the contract
they sign with us and they'll be removed and won't be allowed to sell with us further.

7) Who is the founder of the company?

Hammad Salik. He is based out of Maryland, USA.

8) More information about the company?

What we are is an American company that plans to bring the biggest South Asian online market place in
Pakistan and a start up with many young minds behind it. We have initiated to bring domestic and
international brands on board with us. We are officially inviting brands/companies to join our affiliate
program in which we create and assign a portal for you where you can upload your product catalogue.

9) Expected customer audience/traffic?

The expected customer audience is 3 million which means more sales and revenue for your business. We
plan to vigorously market it through different mediums which will lead to increased traffic. We will also
be employing SE0 vigorously and Mail chimp etc. however, the number is an approximate figure and that
is something we acquired through our development team.

10) Which countries would you ship to?

For now, It's Pakistan only however we have people looking into shipping options and customs currently,
as a lot of work goes into that as you already know. Shipping rates get escalated due to customs and we
are trying to find a feasible option for the customers and the sellers.

11) How is ‘The Grand Bazaar’ different than Daraz.pk, and in which ways is it more-user
friendly?

A) Yes, Daraz is well established. But it is the only one. We have a population of 193.2 million with one
ecommerce platform selling everything. There is a demand for more. And not just that what daraz lacks is
quality control. We plan to have guaranteed quality insurance through multiple ways. One being anyone
selling subpar products or falsifying will be banned from the website which will include a penalty.
B) Daraz has been bought by Ali baba which will start to dump cheap Chinese products into the market.
Customers will be inclined to buy cheaper stuff. And bigger brands might not suffer much but smaller
retailers and vendors will be affected.

C) We are a hybrid model, which incorporates c2c (customer to customer), b2b (business to business) and
b2c (business to customer) in our model which makes us superior to the others in terms of services benefit
provided.

D) We will provide excellent customer service which is the main pillar of any e-commerce. From our
survey, we have discovered is that most people have complained about Daraz's lack of good customer
service.

12) How would you compete against Daraz?

It is true competition with Daraz is difficult starting off and it will be a slow and steady rise. However,
there is a demand so we don't see Daraz as a competition as such. Because with the country's growing rate
of people with smart phones and awareness. This is definitely a market with an untapped potential.

13) If it's a luxury brand, or a high end brand portal?

We have a separate portal that links from our main page, that will come under the banner of the
‘thegrandb Luxe’ and it will have its own separate layout and will only be a designers’ portal. I know
your target audience might be somewhat different than the other brands on board but we find this will
bridge the gap between the audiences and help you tap into another niche. For instance, a middle class
might not be able to afford high end brands most of the times but they might consider it if they come
across it for special occasions.
