RE: LETTER OF APPOINTMENT


Following your recent interview with us, we now have the pleasure of informing you that we are able to
make an offer of employment.

1. POSITION
During the term of this Agreement, you will serve Company; in the capacity of Sales Associate - East
Africa. Employee will report directly to the Head of Marketing.

2. SALARY
The Company agrees to pay a fixed monthly salary of Ksh 100,000 (gross) + 1% commission of
total sales, to a maximum of Ksh 200,000 (gross) total monthly compensation, to Employee on
the last business day of each month, inclusive of the cost of rent or other housing
accommodations.

3. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
Domestic health insurance for the Employee and any direct dependents is included. Paid leave is accrued
as two (2) days per month worked and can be carried into the following working year with Supervisor
Approval. Paid leave days can be used after an email request 14 days in advance, or with Supervisor
Approval. There will be no financial compensation for leave not taken. The Company does not currently
have, and there is no current expectation that the Company will have, any further Employee benefit plan
of general application, including without limitation pension and profit-sharing plans, deferred
compensation, supplemental retirement or excess-benefit plans, incentive or other bonus plans, life,
disability, accident and dental insurance programs, 401(k) plan, and sabbatical leave plans, and similar
plans or programs.

4. PROBATIONARY PERIOD

The probationary period will be three (3) calendar months from the date of commencement. During this
period, employment may be terminated by either side giving one (1) months’ notice or paying one (1)
month's salary in lieu of notice.

5. DUTIES AND LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Customer Acquisition:
• Transition 3,000 customers from your current trade operation to trading with BitPesa
• Acquire Trade customers in East Africa (at least 3 power traders per month)
• Assist Head of Marketing to acquire new Enterprise clients in East Africa (companies who
send or receive >$1000/month)
• Help entire Sales & Marketing Team to increase overall sales volume by 30% month-over-
month

Customer Retention:
• Participate in resolution of customer support issues
• Retain Power Users in East Africa through personal outreach (phone calls, meetings)

Market/Competitor Analysis:
• Estimate the market size for target customer segments in East Africa
• Monitor the user experience, pricing, and marketing strategy of competitors (both
incumbents and new entrants) in East Africa

Sales Administration:
• Update Google Calendar and Global Sales and Marketing Calendar with key sales meetings
and sales events/conferences
• Ensure all Hot and Warm leads for Trade and Enterprise are tracked in Google Docs
• Report on key sales leads at Weekly Sales Team meeting
• Submit budget request to Head of Marketing - Africa by end of previous month
• Submit expense report via Expensify at the end of each month

Compensation:
• Ksh 100,000 (gross)/month and 1% commission on value of sales. `
• Maximum commission per month is Ksh 200,000.

Other Stipulations:
• Upon acceptance of this offer, you will receive a contract that indicates you agree to the
responsibilities and expectations outlined above
• Although this position is based in Nairobi, it may require work travel to other countries
beyond Kenya as required by BitPesa
