: ‫الخطوة األولى‬
‫البحث عن الجامعات التي توفر تخصصك الذي تريد التقديم علية من خالل الرابط التالي‬

CSC ‫الجامعات التي تظهر أمامها نجمة حمراء يعني انها تقدم المنح الصينية المعروفة ب‬

‫ بالبحث في قوقل باسم الجامعة‬ageny number ‫ عليك البحث عن رقم تلك الجامعة المعروف باسم‬، ‫بعد تحديد الجامعات التي توفر تخصصك‬
:‫ بعدها يتم التقديم من الموقع الرسمي للمنح الصينية من خالل الرابط التالي‬Agency number , ‫متبوع ب‬

:‫الخطوة الثالثة‬
‫طباعة النموذج بعد إتمام الخطوة الثانية وتجهيز نسختين من الوثائق الموجوده بالنموذج بالترتيب وإرسالها إلى عنوان مكتب األجانب الخاص‬
.‫بالمنح الصينية‬

.‫ فهناك جامعات تتطلب التقديم في موقعها أيضا بعد إتمام الخطوات السابقة‬، ‫ يجب االطالع على خطوات التقديم بموقع الجامعة‬: 1 ‫مالحظة‬
‫أيضا كل جامعة لها شروط معينة ويجب االطالع عليها فبعض الجامعات تتطلب إرسال الوثائق وبعضها ال تتطلب‬.
‫ يجب التقديم على أكثر من جامعة وايضا هناك منح أخرى تقدمها كل جامعة غير المنح المعروفة‬:2 ‫ مالحظة‬CSC ، ‫مثل منح المقاطعة‬

China CSC Scholarships Details

Application fee: free except some universities require processing fee about 50-100 USD.
Application period: December – March
The steps that are required to apply for the Chinese scholarships type B.

1. Select a Chinese university that offer CSC a scholarship and find your department in that
the university via this link http://www.campuschina.org/universities/categories.html.
2. Visit the website of the interested universities for more detail since each one may has
some additional requirements. Find an agency number for the university which is
important while filling the application form online in step 7.
3. Send emails to professors to get an acceptance letter. To get the attention of a professor,
attach a very good CV and an initial research proposal. This step is not mandatory but it
is recommended to find the professor with whom you will work with. This will increase
your chances to get accepted by the university.

4. Get two recommendation letters from your professors. Also, a language certificate that
certifies that the language of instruction at the previous university (i.e. you have graduated
from) is English. This is for those who want to study in English.
5. Fill out the physical examination form which is available on internet. This is the link:
http://ee.china-embassy.org/eng/tzygg/P020180201571562452803.pdf.
6. Your documents (Graduate Diploma and Transcripts) must be either in English or Chinese
language.
7. Create your account and login on the official website:
http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login. Then, fill out each form separately for each
university that you want to choose for your application. Then, print the form twice.
8. If the university form is required to be filled online, fill out the form and print it as well.
9. Send the documents (ordered as they appeared in the printed form in the step 7) to the
international office of the university if it is required.

Overview
The demand for electrical power is escalating in the world
due to increased industrialization and globalization and this
triggers the need for more power generation in the face of
changing electricity generation, transmission and
distribution systems. Interest in distributed energy systems
has dramatically increased in the recent years due to a
constantly growing power demand thus increasing concerns
about the continued use of fossil fuels for non-renewable
power generation amidst the growing clamour for stricter
environmental regulations and reduced greenhouse gas
emissions due to global climate change. Distributed
Generation (DG) is emerging as a promising electricity
generation technology for the future. The electricity
network of the future must be secure, cost-effective,
scalable and environmentally sustainable. The integration of
DG into power grid raises several key challenges such as
power electronics, protection systems, reliability, power
quality issues and connection standards.
Photovoltaics (PV) and wind represents two of the most
promising means of maintaining our energy intensive
standard of living while not contributing to global warming
and pollution. Power electronics plays a vital role in
interfacing such renewable energy resources to the grid [1].
There is an important and urgent need to improve the
classified into two categories; bidirectional and
unidirectional converters [2]. While the latter is utilized to
interface the renewable energy resource, the former is
always essential when a storage element is involved in the
electrical system.
A single power conversion system as illustrated in Fig. 1
comprising a centralised controller that can facilitate the
integration of a variety of renewable energy input sources
and combine their advantages to deliver better
performances is highly desirable [3]. Therefore, multiport
converters have received (‘a’ can be deleted) great
attention from researchers in the last few years.
This project therefore will investigate the integration of
different renewable energy resources using a suitable
multiport DC/DC converter. The work will also exploit the
features of the well-developed technology of multilevel
inverters [4]-[5] to realise a transformer-less, grid-
connected system.
The project aims to develop a modular and cost effective
power dense converter system with scalability and
extendibility features utilising a centralised controller.

electronic interface suitable for integration of PV, wind

The main objectives of the proposed project are:
 To understand the characteristics and the
requirements of different renewable energy resources
and review the current/developed multiport power
electronic converters topologies.
 To develop an efficient and modular multiport
bidirectional power converter that can accommodate
multiple renewable energy input sources.
 To design the proposed multiport power converter
and develop suitable control strategies.
 To demonstrate the effectiveness and the functionality
of the proposed power converter through both
simulation and experimental studies using a simple DG
system.
Research Methodology
This project proposal deals with integration of multiple
renewable energy resources using an advanced multiport
power converter through the following stages:
1. Renewable energy resources and storage
technology
Critical review of literature is necessary for exploring
various renewable energy resources and storage
technologies in order to understand the
characteristics and the requirements of each type.
The proposed PhD project targets to include at least
two potential renewable energy resources and one
storage element. This emulates practical DG systems
which will assist in designing and/or deciding on the
type of the multiport power converter and its
required function.
2. Design and development of proposed power
converter for renewables integration
A thourogh literature review will lead to
understanding of the development requirements for
the intended modular design of the multiport
converter. Intitial simulation studies are expected at
this stage to enhance and optimize the power
converter against different operating conditions. A
modular multiport converter that can accommodate
the above arrangment should then be designed. The
performance of the overall system will be then
analysed and investigated with different aspects in
order to optimise its parameters against various
system changes.
3. Experimental validation
A scaled down laboratory prototype will be
developed to verify and validate the simulation and
theoretical findings. This will be based on at least two
renewable energy resources (subject to availability
and practicability within the lab facility) and one
storage element (i.e. battery or supercapacitor). The
prototype development concerns an advanced power
electronic block that is scalable to meet different
power requirements and might address and resolve
more than a single issue, with modular design, lower
cost, and improved reliability, and durability of
distributed and renewable energy systems.
4. Communication of results
This research results will be disseminated through
top-quality refereed journal articles and paper
presentations in prestigious peer-reviewed
international conferences.
Timeline
Year 1: Review and study the characteristics and
requirements of various renewable energy resources.
Explore the various power converter topologies suitable
for integration of different renewables and devise an
appropriate multiport converter topology.
Year 2: Develop control techniques that will facilitate the
integration of renewable resources together. Investigate a
key technology that provides lower cost and modular
design of the power converter to network owners. Design
and develop an efficient modular multiport converter that
facilitates the connection of a broader range of distributed
generation sources.
Year 3: Develop an experimental rig and evaluate the
effectiveness and the functionality of the proposed
converter through experimentation using a simple DG
system.
Year 4: Analyse the measurements from the prototype
system and write-up the thesis.
Training & Skills
 The student will be based in the electrical power
research group and work in the state of the art
electrical power research laboratory within the School
of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Newcastle
University. Skype/Teleconferencing facilities will be used
for regular supervisory meetings with NUIS, Singapore.
 The student will be trained for design of advanced
power converter circuits using Synopsys tools (Saber)
and will be encouraged to develop hardware skills for
prototype design and implementation.
 Student will also be encouraged to undertake various
training courses offered by the university throughout
his/her postgraduate study to develop himself/herself to
become an independent researcher. Student will be
encouraged to present his/her work in top-notch
conferences.
 The project will position the student for a highly
desirable career in the Electrical Power Engineering
Industry.
 The project will significantly contribute to building up of
research capacity in the field of renewable energy from
an electrical engineering perspective, both at national
and international levels.

“Knowledge is Power” has always been the motivating force behind all the accomplishments in my life.
From very beginning I had lots of interest in computer and wanted to study computer science. Later on,
when first computer came in my home back in 2002, it brought about a revolutionary change in my life.
Soon after, I started spending my time itching computers rather than professionally operating it. And it
would be interesting to relate that in my neighborhood, I became the computer-guy who was supposed
to solve all computer hardware/software problems. As the time went by, I reached my 9 th grade and
even with manioc interest in computers, I took Biology as an elective subject due to the unavailability of
computer lab in my secondary school. This never became the reason to change my affection with
computers.

The desire to get complete knowledge about computing and specifically about software prompted me to
enroll myself at International finance University; one of the most prestigious institutes of Pakistan.
Today as a 27-years-old, I think that life for me has been a process of conscious evolution. The most
integral part of this growth is the value system imbibed in me by my parents, teachers, mentors and an
intrigued liking for computing. This played a vital role in my decision-making for future. My
undergraduate education not only gave me a certain set of skills but also helped me understand my
fields of interest and my academic strengths. I came to the realization that how-of writing human and
computer readable software involves more than just coding. There I learned more about Software
Engineering, Software Design and Architecture, Software Testing & Quality Assurance, Software Project
Management, Algorithmic Analysis, and software development in variety of programming languages.

I was also honored by the chair of the department to participate in automating university’s core
business processes during my final year. This enabled me to work with best minds and I learned
extensive software analysis, design and development technologies/methodologies in practice. Beyond
my academic disposition and experience, I was also deeply involved in extracurricular activities such as
games (Cricket, Badminton and Football), traveling and participating in different social activities. I was
also the member of departmental disaster management club and participated in Flood Relief Campaign
in year 2010. Furthermore, due to excellent managerial and communication skills I was also elected as
the Class Representative in my undergraduate school.
Currently, being Database Administrator (DBA) at National University of Science and Technology (NUST)
since February 2012, I possessed industry-hardened skills in computers, but I must build on these to
achieve my goal of undertaking radical research in analysis, design and development of complex
software systems. I, therefore, believe that I must return to the higher studies so to achieve career
excellence in organization, R&D and to benefit the society.

My main purpose for applying at Beihang University (BUAA) is to pursue a unique research-based
graduate degree with international exposure at its innovative campus. I learnt of this university from
one of my teachers. Later on, through online study, Beihang University Graduate Program of Computer
Science and Technology caught my attention and after going through the curriculum, I concluded, there

I was very glad when I saw this particular opportunity to apply for a Master program in Mechanical Engineering
and with this letter I would like to express my strong motivation for this master course. I am a graduate of the
University Of Szeged, Hungary holding BSc degree in Mechanical engineering.

I have graduated with honors at University of Szeged where I was able to get a solid knowledge in the field. At the
moment I am doing my internship in XXX Corp, where I am learning in practice how to apply methods for
advanced component and structure dimensioning, which was the topic of my Bachelor thesis. Thanks to this
particular experience I was able to perceive the complexity of this field, and to realize that I would like to develop
my career in this area. Beside application of structure dimensioning, I hold especial interest in the digital design –
both Computer aided design and computer aided engineering, and I would like to do specialization in this
particular area.

After careful overview of the master program you are offering with at your University, I believe that curricula fully
suits my intentions, and therefore I would like to get an opportunity to attend this program.

Due to my financial situation I was able to continue my studies in my country or abroad, since I am not in a
position to finance my studies. Therefore, I will be very grateful to be provided with scholarship to improve my
education and incent my career prospects. Knowledge gained on the studies at your University I see as an
extraordinary career opportunity, and therefore I would be very glad if you could support my education with

Mr. Ahmed Zakaria Saeed Hassen Al-Qershi. I know Mr. Al-Qershi since four
years as a bachelor student in the department of Marine Geology / Hodeidah
University – Yemen.

I have taught him courses in Stratigraphy, Computer Applications,

Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Environmental geology, and Research Project. Where
he was one of the best three students in the class with general average in all
courses from very good to excellent.

Mr. Al-Qershi is very serious, highly motivated, working hard and capable
