To whom it may concern,

I am writing this letter in regard to Meghan Allen. I first started working with Meghan a couple years ago
as she was finishing up her course work for the Art Teaching Program at the University of Utah. Since
then, she has completed her Practicum Field work in my classroom which consisted of several hours of
observing, actively engaging with students, and planning and teaching art making workshops to my high
school art courses. Meghan is currently working on finishing her Student Teaching Internship at Keams
High School in order to become a Secondary Visual Arts Teacher.

When I first began working with Meghan, the first thing that became apparent is that she is incredibly
passionate about Art Education and working with young people. She has an incredible vision for the
possibility's art has for connecting, empowering, and healing and she is able to integrate this into her
practice as an educator. She has developed and implemented a variety of unit plans that reflect this vision
and the outcomes have been impressive student artworks and thoughtful reflections.

Meghan is one of the hardest working students I have ever met. She goes above and beyond in all that she
does, and she does so because she is incredibly passionate about this line of work. Her passion shines
through when she is teaching, working with students, creating, pr even just talking about these things. It's
truly inspiring and encouraging to be around her! Something that sticks out about Meghan is her ability to
create and sustain relationships with her colleagues and students. She values relationship development not
only with her students, one on one, but she facilitates relationship building among her students in order to
create a sense of community in her classroom.

To conclude, Meghan will be successful wherever she goes. I highly recommend her for any art teaching
position that comes her way. She may be at the start of her career as an art educator, but she has worked
hard to build a strong foundation to progress from and she will do just that. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,

Nicole Lavely
