1. TLE SUBJECT MATTER CONCERNS AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE

Pinuela: First of all, the grading system is bigger in the project based.
Valiao: They have to be hands on.
Ballaso: So what’s on your mind?
P: The activities allot more time in classroom situation.
V: After theories, I prefer to allot activities more. My plan is less module more PTs.
B: How do we do that?
V: Theories do not really matter in TLE because this is skill building. Hands on. Learning by doing by
Dewey.
B: So, your proposal is?
V: Miss pau will give one week module that will talk about theories.
B: So how many weeks would it take to perform all the activities after a week of theories?
P: Depends on the complexities of the activities. Ideally, 2 to 3 weeks allotted for the PTs. But I would like
to emphasize that not all topics require PTs. Only selected one.
B: So if the topic does not require PTs, the modular for theories will be utilized.
P: yes. If an area can just be fulfilled with just a theory, we can resort to modules only. But if the area
really requires PTs, then we will proceed with the option to allot more weeks for PTs.
V: I hope we can pursue it so the aim of TLE will be fulfilled.
P: Eventhough they are at home, they can always send proof that they perform their activities hands on
through pictures or videos. Collaborative learning with family will be pushed too. But we have to be sure
that the activities are within their means and availability. We have to adjust because of the current
situation.
V: We have to see the availability of materials and resources. I hope that every quarter we will have an
overall project that has something to do with their area.
B: That’s possible as long as it considers the status quo. We cannot really decide for now since this is
subject for approval by sister Regina.

We will consult with Sister Regina and perhaps send her a written proposal about our plan ASAP.

Ballaso: How is your professional life so far?
Valiao: I am on a big adjustment period. Time management is the key factor here. And I am having a
difficulty in that aspect. But I am working on it.
Ballaso: I guess that is our commonality.
Pinuela: We are on the same boat here.
Ballaso: How do you cope up with the situation though?
V: I would sleep late. I only have 2 hours of sleep. Sleep at 2 AM and wake up at 4 AM. I find it hard
because I am having a problem with my resources. It’s time consuming and I have to internalize
everything before I put the information in the module.
B: You are very meticulous Sir. That is very good. But please get some sleep. How about you Miss
Pauline? Are you having the same problem?
P: I have no problem with my resources since I have books here. My problem is about the activities but
now that it’s lessened, I think I will be okay now.
B: Will you be okay?
P: Yes, I can manage.
B: The beginning is always the hardest.
V: To be honest even though I am a TLE major, I am still adjusting since there are 17 areas in TLE and I
am not really equipped with all of the areas in TLE. With all frankness.
B: How would you overcome that challenge sir?

V: I ask my TLE teacher friends who are more knowledgeable about each subject. Unlike here, the public
schools only have one area per teacher which means that every teacher will only teach one area that he is
specialized in. Here, I take charge of all. That is quite a challenge.
B: Would you like to address that to Sister Regina?
V: I would just merge all the topics that can be merged so I can hit two birds with one stone but all the
competencies are covered.
B: So can you manage for now?
V: Yes I can. So far it is manageable. But I would like to address that concern to sister Regina.
B: Yes, I suggest you do so Sister Regina will be aware of it and can rectify the concern ASAP.
