Introduction
How to Use this Kindergarten Curriculum
Step 1: Relax, you and your child are going to do some amazing things this year!
Step 2: Purchase a Have Fun Teaching Membership. All of the resources included in this curriculum
plan are unlocked and become free when you purchase a membership.
Step 3: Get to know the scope of the curriculum. Browse through the Subjects, Skills, and
Resources to familiarize yourself with the expectaHons of the school year. Use the Table of
Contents by clicking on a Skill to view corresponding resources that will help you teach that skill.
Understand that your child may be advanced in some areas, while needing extra help in other
areas. The order of teaching, and the Hme spent in each skill, will depend on your child’s needs,
strengths, and areas that need aLenHon.
Step 4: Each day, spend a few hours with your child going over various Subjects and Skills using
the resources and links provided in this curriculum and with your membership. Each day, your child
should complete at least one resource from Phonics, Reading, Math, and Language, however,
depending on your child’s needs you may need to modify this.
In addiHon, try to have your child complete one to three resources each week from a variety of
Science, Social Studies, Basic Skills, Character Educa8on, Speaking and Listening, and Wri8ng skills.
For example, your child could complete 1 Science resource, 1 Basic Skills resource, and 1 Character
resource in a week. Again, your child may be able to do more or may need to do less.
Step 5: Be sure to research the homeschool guidelines in your state for any required informaHon
you need to know, such as total number of homeschool days, paperwork submission guidelines,
etc.
Step 6: Start your day with plenty of rest, a healthy breakfast, and take frequent brain breaks
during instrucHon using our Fitness Videos. Remember to encourage your child when they do a
good job, and most of all…Have Fun!
