5. Use of ISO Metric Threads on PS-26D(E) Engine Parts

SK8201

DAIHATSU has marketed the PS-26H engine, an

improved version of the existing PS-26D(E)
engine, and since its introduction that engine has
been accepted by our customers with favorable
reactions.

The screw threads of component parts for the

PS-26H engine are ISO metric rather than
Whitworth screw threads which is the standard
for the PS-26D(E).

DAIHATSU is trying to give interchangeability to

as many parts of the PS-26H and the PS-26D(E)
engines in order to secure the correct and
prompt delivery of the parts to the customers.

The parts which are interchangeable between the

two engines are ALL in the ISO metric screw
system. As such, all the interchangeable parts
delivered to our customers as replacement parts
for the PS-26D(E) engine will be tagged with
caution labels that read:

ISO Metric Threads

The parts of the PS-26D(E) engine that are NOT interchangeable with parts of the PS-26H, will be
Whitworth threaded as ever.
