preliminary: Online Game Addiction has been recognized internationally, addiction to

playing games is planned to be classified as a mental health disorder. Conditions like this are
feared will bring a mental disorder that can occur in online game addicts. Research objective:
To analyze the relationship between online game addiction and mental health status in
adolescents aged 13-15 years in Sidoarjo Regency. Method: The study design used an
analytic observational design with a cross sectional approach. The entire population of grade
VII, VIII, IX students at SMPN 1 Waru, SMPN 3 Waru, SMP Dharma Wanita Gedangan,
MTS AL-JADID Waru Sidoarjo Regency, totaling 198 students with probability sampling
techniques. The independent variable online game addiction uses a questionnaire and the
dependent variable is mental health using a questionnaire measuring tool. Editing, coding,
scoring, and tabulating data processing, data analysis using the Spearman Rank statistical
test. The results of the study: showed that from 198 respondents most of them had moderate
level of online game addiction as many as 134 students (46.7%) and most of the respondents
had moderate mental health as many as 79 students (27.5). P value = 0.04 <0.05, which
means H1 is accepted. Conclusion: In this study, there is a relationship between online game
addiction and adolescent mental health status. It shows that from 198 respondents, most of
them have a moderate level of online game addiction as many as 134 students (46.7%) and
most of the respondents have moderate mental health as many as 79 students (27.5). P value
