Situation problem solution of the electrical system in Venezuela
The Venezuelan electrical system is unstable. Dips or fluctuations in voltage are felt
from East to West. Across the country, users are rushing to unplug their home
appliances or electronic gadgets and avoid burning them.

The condition of oscillations (ups and downs) is due to an infrastructure that is in

deterioration, that is not maintained, that equipment is not replaced, that increasingly
loses more generation capacity.

There are reactive compensating equipment (such as reactors, static compensators)

of the Trunk Transmission Network that one of its functions is to stabilize the voltage
that is out of service. Any instability affects the entire system because it is
interconnected. It does not matter where the failure occurs. The electrical system lost
its voltage regulation capacity. The thermal and hydroelectric generation units are
bad, the equipment of the Trunk Transmission Network is bad. It is not possible to
maintain a minimum quality of service and that is what happens.

A possible solution is to recover all the equipment of the reactive compensators of

the Trunk Transmission Network. That is vital that it cease, as well as increasing
generation in the most important areas, such as Termozulia in Maracaibo, the
hydroelectric plants in the Andes, and the Central Plant in Carabobo. It is a job that
would take a period of 18 months if you have a team of professionals who know how
to do it, which is not the case at Corpoelec, and once you have the resources.
