Phase 1: Giving the Test 1. Make a copy of the google form. 2. Look through the questions and edit them based on the needs of your class. 3. To use on Google Classroom, create a “Quiz Assignment” and add the test. Ensure that the settings are set to your preferences. This will mark the multiple choice questions for you. 4. If any students prefer to write the test using a hard copy, they will print out nicely as well.
Phase 2: Marking the Test 1. Go to the ‘Responses” tab in the Google Form test. 2. All of the questions on the test are organized by outcome to allow for easy marking. 3. Each question is valued out of a 2 or a 3. This is not to show a quantitative right or wrong, but rather shows the possible level of cognitive understanding. If a student demonstrates knowledge at the expert level, they could get a 4, but this is difficult to show in a Unit Test style assessment. 4. Mark each outcome separately based on the level of understanding the student shows. It is important to note that there will be no final grade on the test because it assesses multiple outcomes. 5. Give students the results of their exam, you can do this easily using a comment on google classroom. Remind students to ignore the final score on their exams as this does not show understanding on each outcome. 6. Add their score for each outcome into the gradebook.
