- How has MEU changed you?

I joined MEU during my second year at university not knowing the impact that it
will have on me as a person, MEU became my family and my support. During my
years as a coordinator and Volunteer, I saw how a big program works and the small
one and I learned how to operate efficiently in both.
This past year as a PR director I was faced with the reality that I will not have an
assistant, and being promoted from a coordinator to a director was a risk and a
challenge I was willing to take, to prove that dedication and time management are
the key to the success of PR especially in such times. I had to Fill the shoes of 2
positions in one year, this made me grow and understand the procedure and
technicalities of the program. I learned to keep working hard, I learned how to
cope better with difficulties, how to be organized, and how to face challenges
confidently. Looking back, I would have never gotten the opportunities that I have
today without my experience in the stimulation models.

- How did you contribute to the program?

Although I was a PR in MEU, I was a support in OCE SM, I made sure that whenever I
was available, I volunteered in other teams where they needed me. This past year I
was an Lo Volunteer in MUN all year and a PR Director in MEU, I helped PI when
needed during session and I was in close contact with the training team to boost my
own knowledge of the EU.
When I was in GCI, I worked as a Logistics coordinator and supported the conference
services team on the desk when needed.
Even though, I was an active volunteer amongst all different teams , I am eager to
bring the plan that I have in mind to life for all the teams once I become DG.

What’s your plan for the year ?

keeping in mind what the world has and is still going through , I think that
having the program delivered in a hybrid manner is my strong suit, we want to make
the schools and delegates to be satisfied with the experience and be as immersive
as possible whether training was conducted on campus or distantly.

My plan is divided into 5 different teams;

Although I have a general image set for the year. I have specific measures for
each team starting with PR, having covered 90% of the sponsors already
during this time, I want to team to focus on publicity, we need to show
Lebanon that we still stand by our values and that this year will be an
exceptional year but in the best way possible.
1- In terms of training because of the dire times, I think the most important is
criteria to be successful this year is for the trainers to be flexible and deliver
the same quality remotely, as well as being dedicated to learning and
integrating new information and topics as the year progresses.

2- In terms of SR, whether we choose to go on with OCESR unit or not the

primary focuses this year is to make sure our numbers are solid by facilitating
our processes and resolving all issues advisors had before we the start of the
year.

3- In terms of PI, I want them to portray our message and values to reach as
many people as possible in Lebanon.

4 -In terms of LO, dedication is needed and a flexible schedule, sometimes

things may change instantly and without prior notice we want the positive
attitude and the willingness to unite as a team.

In general, I want to follow a preventative maintenance concept, throughout

this year.
My goal this year is to maintain the quality the image and the mission of the
program that we stand and working on being united as OCE SM.

- How do lead, type of leadership?

I have had many DG’s over the year, each one was unique, that I took a quality from
each and I want to integrate them. Thus “I consider myself a transformational leader
because I encourage my team to set goals that directly align with our values. As a PR
Director I met with my team weekly to set our agenda and discuss our upcoming plans to
stay ahead of schedule. We would also review and track the progress of our overall team
goals. I also met with each team member individually when needed to help them outline
their goals and why they chose MEU. For instance, one of my team members wanted to be
assigned double the sponsors but we worked together to revise that in order produce a
lower number of deliverables with better quality. This transformational leadership style
enabled my team and I to collaborate as a team and improve the overall quality of our
work.

I am not applying for the sake of the position, because I Lived aboard my
entire life I feel strongly towards Lebanon and everyone that knows me
in MEU knows that I am part of MEU because it’s my family and its my
second Home, I strongly believe in MEU’s Values and I believe my skills
will help us excel during this turning point in history especially with what
4th LEU MEU went through.
I applied because I want to see the program succeed whether I’m a
director, assistant, coordinator or volunteer. MEU is my family and I
wouldn’t want to imagine my next year at LAU without contributing to it.

I have full confidence in the people I am going to choose , to Cover any gaps
that I don’t have , we all learn from one another, that’s how we grow. The
success of MEU lies in everyone’s hands. I am all for Capitalizing expertise, it’s
a great benefit for all of us, and prove that we untied

I wouldn’t mind working with anyone, a team is a team and its always
driven by value and purpose.

** I believe that dima and I share common values, we are both

committed, ambitious and eager to take MEU to the next level, in
addition I can cover for the missing gaps that dima has regarding having
to travel to Saudi Arabia often and having limited access to campus and
other meetings/events at night
