ANTOMY There are several parts of the Respiratory systems following:

Nose- Consists of the external and internal nose and the nasal cavity where air first enters the
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM ANATOMY body.

Pharynx- Is the common passaga way of the respiratory and digestive systems. There are 3
regions of Pharynx: Nasopharynx, Oropharynx, Laryngopharynx.

Larynx- Is commonly called as voicebox where the production of voice originates. Also
Consists of Epiglottis, Vocal fold, Thyroid cartilage, and Cricoid cartilage.

Trachea- The trachea or the wind pipe is the passageway of air from, the upper respiratory tract
to the lowe respiratory tract of the lungs.

Bronchi- Is diviede into 2 separate ways by the carina, to the left bronchi supplies air to the left
lungs, and right bronchi which supplies air to the right lungs and diffuses air into the alveoli in
the lungs.

Alveoli- are small air filled chambers where air and blood come into close contact with each
other where gas exchange occurs.

Lungs- Are group of organs and tissues that works together to help in ventilation.

Small Cell Carcinoma is usually called as Oat cell carcinoma, it is a type of lung cancer where
which is a fast- growing malignant cancer of the lungs. It usually arises form the center chest
area. Small cell carcinoma is a neoplasm of neuroedocrine cells of Kulchitsky cells. Accounts to
about 10-15 % of all lung cancer patients. Small cell carcinoma is inoperable and must be
treated with Chemotherapy.
