I. Give the meanings of :


1. Hyena - a wild animal that looks like a dog.

4. Disappeared – could not be seen or heard.

II. Give one word for:

2. To touch someone lightly in a way that makes them laugh – tickle.

Ans: Hyena was sad as he had lost his laugh.

2. Where did the giraffe look for Hyena’s laugh?


Ans: The giraffe lifted her long neck and looked around the tree tops.

3. How did the Hyena lose his laugh?


Ans: When the Hyena laughed, everyone saw his big teeth. They got scared and
ran away. This made the Hyena sad and so his laugh disappeared.

4. How did the monkey help the Hyena to find his laugh?
Ans: The monkey picked up a feather and began to tickle Hyena all over.
Slowly, Hyena started to smile and then he let out a big loud laugh.
