UP PROCEDURE.
Before starting CWP, Condenser air vents should be kept open to release air
pockets.
Cooling Tower Sump water level should be raised to NWL.
I/L & O/L valves of the Condenser should be kept OPEN.
Ensure O/L MOV of CWP is in CLOSED condition.
Ensure Raisers of Cooling Tower are partially kept OPEN for the required CELL.
Start CWP and slowly (By inching) open the O/L Mov.
CLOSE the vents of the Condenser after Ensuring that Water is coming out from
the Condenser vents.
Raiser Valves should be throttled to get the required flow, & at the same time
watch Header Pressure also.
Keep the stand-by CWP in AUTO mode.
Important Note: Before starting the Rolling of Turbine, Start CEP and keep it in Re-
circulation mode.
Ensure clearance from maintenance and get clearance from Field Operator to
start.
Ensure HOT-WEL level is just above NWL.
Ensure Gland cooling water line valves are OPEN.
Ensure Gland Sealing Water line valves are OPEN.
Condensate Sump Air Evacuation line valve was in OPEN condition.
Ensure Suction & Discharge Valves are in OPEN Condition.
Ensure Discharge (Hot well Level Control Valve) was in CLOSED condition.
Check Suction Strainer Differential Pressure (DP - < 0.4 kg/cm²).
START pump either from LPB (LCS) or DCS.
Put the pump in Re-circulation (Hot well lvl cntrl valve position “0”) mode, if
passing through hot well lvl control valve is observed close isolation valve before
hot well lvl cntrl valve.
After starting CEP adjust Discharge pressure by opening Recirculation
By-pass valve.
