This chapter examines the role of evaluation in the
development of multimedia software to support the teaching
of creative writing to undergraduate level 1students. The
Authors only employed fairly simple and established methods
of evaluation, based on the writer finding that they were able
to generate results which supported the underpinning
curriculum model, which provided the impetus to further
enhance the materials, and which generated further important

importance of an evaluation strategy which can be sustained
and which has a developmental role, that is, it does not just
focus on the specific, possible narrow, aims of the software
and deliberately explores the broader context but should be of
value to tutors in many subject areas who are exploring the
role of evaluation as a means to both developing the
curriculum and generating educational inquiry, particularly
when implementing new computer-based methods.
What are the content of The Background of this chapter present about The
each subtopics? development of the multimedia software supported by
Curriculum Initiatives. The next sub topic is Developing The
Curriculum Approach And Evaluation, this topic explain three
steps to developing curriculum approach an evaluation
namely: step 1 is identify the main curriculum ingredients (not
starting with technology, then steps 2 is work out ways to
preserve the main ingredients (and specify appropriate use of
technology if possible), and the last step is design and
implement the most appropriate evaluation strategy and
methods.
Next topic is Evaluation Results And Discussion, this part
discuss about the result of evaluation and following by table
that show about the percentage of figures based on that
returns. In terms of pedagogic value, the general evaluation
results have been very positive, for example Most students
found Verse Writer interesting and useful, Most students
worked through the whole program, which again suggests that
they found it valuable and Although authors had expected
Verse Writer to provide the greatest benefit to students who
had the least background in English studies, students from the
English Studies Course also received it very enthusiastically,
Etc.
The last Topic by General Implication and Conclusion
discuss about general implications, the authors can highlight
the way in which evaluation that adopts a broad contextual
perspective (as authors have tried to do) and that does not
focus on simple summative measures can provide both
important data to monitor and improve the application and can
generate important developmental questions and issues.
The content of this chapter are supported by some theory, its
mean that this content developed based on the theory and not
only based on the authors knowledge and experiences. For
example when the authors present about the difficulties of
embedding software in other institutions (page 35), the
How does the theory/s authors include the finding according to the experts for

theory about the difficulties of embedding software in other
institutions where many staff have been less fortunate than
ourselves in terms of the support they have received from
their IT infrastructure. Each sub topic followed by some
theory by the experts to support the content of it discussion.
After the writer conducted the review activity regarding to this
chapter, the writer able to make a conclusion that this chapter

recommendation chapter are good to learn by the students in creative writing by
using multimedia software, and also this chapter include some
results of evaluation that followed by the table that show
about percentage of pedagogic value and the result mostly
positive for the students.
