Exhibition Prep: Finalizing Photograph of Physics

Please respond to the following questions, with regards to your final Photograph of Physics
project, in complete thoughts and sentences.

1) What is the title of your photograph?
Reflection in Nature

2) Please describe the physics phenomenon, demonstrated in your photograph, with
the use of evidence. In other words, what are we seeing in the photo and how
does it work?
In this photograph, we are seeing a mirroring of trees, through water. This physics
phenomenon is called reflection. Reflection is the change in direction of a wave or ray
when it strikes two different
mediums. For example, if there is
a mirror laying flat on the ground
and there is a ray that is shining
on the mirror. This ray is called an
incident ray and the ray that is
bouncing off the mirror is called
the angle of reflection. You can’t
forget that the angle of incident is
the same as the angle of
reflection. The drawing that I made gives a better explanation on what I am saying. As
you can see in the image below, because the water is so smooth (almost like a mirror)
the trees can be reflected off of its surface using the law of reflection.
