(5) Sinopsis/Synopsis:
Kursus ini bertujuan membimbing pelajar untuk memeriksa secara mendalam dan kritikal pandangan-
pandangan penting, aliran-aliran yang ternampak dan isu-isu yang berbangkit dalam pendidikan di Malaysia
kini. Pelajar digalakkan untuk menentukan bidang dan mendalami aspek berkenaan daripada pelbagai
perspektif yang relevan dalam bidang pendidikan. Melalui kursus ini, diharap pelajar mendapat peluang untuk
menyuarakan idea-idea tersendiri dalam perbincangan dan seterusnya menulis secara ilmiah tentang topik-
topik tertentu. Pelajar diwajibkan membuat pembacaan yang luas. Antara isu yang akan dikaji ialah falsafah
dan fungsi pendidikan, arah perkembangan kurikulum, arah perkembangan pengurusan pendidikan,
perkhidmatan perguruan dan arah perkembangan pendidikan tinggi.
This course aims to assist students to examine in depth and critically important insights, which saw the
current trends and issues arising in education in Malaysia. Students are encouraged to determine the scope
and depth of the various aspects of the relevant perspective in education. In this course, students are
expected to get a chance to express their own ideas and further discussion in scholarly writing about certain
topics. Students are required to read intensively. Among the issues to be studied includes philosophy and
education functions, the development of the curriculum, the development of management education, teaching
and the development of higher education.
