OBSTACLES TO FAITH

HEBREWS 11:1-6

Faith is very vital part of what we do in our Christian lives.

Our prayers, service, worship, giving, relationship, and fellowship is affected by our FAITH.
Today let us learn the OBSTACLES TO FAITH.

1. HUMAN REASON
* Many times we miss His many blessings because our mindset is controlling us and it doesn’t
work in His will working for us.
* Our own reasoning often hinders the exercise of our FAITH.

2. LIVING BY SIGHT
* Our actions often determined by what we see and not how God sees it. This means we don’t
trust Him.
* We cannot live by faith and live by sight at the same time.

3. SURRENDERING TO OUR FEELINGS

* Sometimes WE FEEL we do not want to do things, cannot do things, and will not do things.
* God wants us to trust His Word not our FEELINGS.
* Sight and feelings are great hindrances to our faith.

4. NEGATIVE COUNSEL
* Often times we seek opinions, suggestions or ideas.
* What we need to know and learn is God’s Word.
* Psalm 1:1-3 King James Version (KJV)

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his
leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

5. FEELINGS OF GUILT
* Looking back to our past guilt, sins and failures instead of looking to God’s forgiveness, what
He can do, and blessings.

6. NEGLECTING GOD’S WORD.

* If we neglect God’s word our Faith will begin to slow down.
* The Word of God is the fuel of our faith.
7. CONTINUING IN SIN
* It short circuits faith in our lives.
* We cannot believe what God can do in our lives when we continue living in sin.
* We may be doing some things for God but He can’t use us to the maximum of what He is
pleased to do with us.

8. SATAN’S TACTICS
* Satan wants us to doubt God.
* Remember the example of Eve at the Garden of Eden.
* Satan wants us to doubt
- God’s word
- His commandments
- The results

We will never know what our faith can do unless we step out from what is keeping us to grow in our
faith to God . Whatever your situation or circumstance, God can transform your life and help you
advance spiritually if you’re ready to call on Him.
