OBJECTIVE

 To prescribe a training program needed by senior management group/personnel

to ensure that the desired results of the Safety & Health program can be
achieved.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (REQUIREMENTS/STANDARDS)

The H&S Committee shall map out plans and program of activities necessary to
implement program element of Management Training.

A. SENIOR MANAGEMENT GROUP ORIENTATION

1. The HR department & Safety Officer shall develop an appropriate OSH Orientation for
Senior Management Group good for at least 5 hours.
2. HR department & Safety Officer shall ensure that Senior Management Group has
completed the “Executive Orientation on OSH”.
B. FORMAL INITIAL TRAINING OF SENIOR MANAGEMENT GROUP/PERSONNEL
1. Senior Management Group/Personnel shall have completed a formal initial training on
OSH. This training shall include DOLE/BWC-prescribed training courses on the following:
a. 5-Day “Basic Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Training”
b. 5-Day “Loss Control Management (LCM) Training”.
c. 5-Day “Safety Program Assessment (SPA) Training”
d. 5-Day “OSH Program Training”
2. The HR department & Safety Officer shall ensure that the above-mentioned training
courses will be conducted by DOLE/BWC-accredited Safety Consultants or Safety Training
Organization to conform to requirements of having formal initial training for senior
management group/personnel.

C. FORMAL INITIAL TRAINING OF SUPERVISORY UP THROUGH MIDDLE

MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL
1. The HR department & Safety Officer shall develop and establish a Formal Initial Training
(Training Matrix) of Supervisory up through Middle Management Personnel on OSH by
using the training need analysis in order to meet the requirements of the company.
All managers and supervisors shall give necessary support and cooperation to ensure
effective implementation of Formal Initial Training of Supervisory up through Middle
Management Personnel on OSH, as indicated hereunder.
2. The HR department shall ensure that all supervisory up through middle management
personnel shall have completed the training courses needed by the organization to meet
customer requirements as well as government regulations and standards. As reference, use
the list of specific training courses offered by the accredited safety training organizations on
Safety & Health, Pest Control & Environmental Management.
D. FORMAL REVIEW TRAINING OF SUPERVISORY UP THROUGH MIDDLE
MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL
1. The HR department & Safety Officer shall ensure that a Formal Review Training of
Supervisory up through Middle Management Personnel on OSH is implemented every three
years.
2. The HR group shall ensure that Supervisory up through Middle Management Personnel had
completed the following training courses:
a. 5-Day “Basic Occupational Safety & Health (BOSH) Training”.
b. 5-Day “Loss Control Management (LCM) Training”.
c. 5-Day “OSH Program Training”.
d. 5-Day “Safety Program Assessment (SPA) Training”.
E. FORMAL TRAINING OF PROGRAM COORDINATOR.
1. The HR department shall ensure that a Formal Training on OSH is given to Program
Coordinator (Safety Officer) within three years from date of hiring.

2. The HR department shall ensure that the program coordinator had completed the following
training courses prescribed by DOLE/BWC to comply to requirements of accreditation as
OSH Practitioner and/or OSH Consultant:
a. 5-Day “Basic Occupational Safety & Health (BOSH) Training”
b. 5-Day “Loss Control Management (LCM) Training”
c. 5-Day “Safety Program Assessment (SPA) Training”
d. 5-Day “OSH Program Training”
e. 5-Day “Training of Trainers (TOT)”
