Writing Task 1. To evaluate the nonverbal communication of a person.

Directions: Watch any of the television shows of your favorite TV personality's


nonverbal communication. Analyze the TV personality's nonverbal
communication specifically; 1. Posture 2. Gesture 3. Artifacts 4. Tactile 5,
Paralanguage.

Television Show: Eat Bulaga


TV Personality: Paolo Ballesteros

1. Posture
- I observe that he is confident when hosting. You can see it when
he walks. He feel relaxed, yet tall and not rigid. He is standing
straight with shoulders back.

2. Gesture
- I observe he show head nodding in acknowledgement of good
points or questions when they have guest or interviewer in the
segment. Smiling while you nod makes this action even more
positive.

3. Artifacts
- I observe that when they had interview with their guest, he give
friendly advise based on his life experiences or based on facts.

4. Tactile
- I observe that when hosting he waves to the audience, handshake
his co-host or hugging. It indicates self-confidence and respect.

5. Paralanguage
- I observe that when hosting the tone of his voice is high, happy
and loud to get the attention of the viewers. He always laughs and
give laughs to the audience.

ACTIVITY #8: REFLECTION TIME


Direction: Write down what you learned in the past weeks and lessons you
encountered during this self-paced era studying. Share your struggles and
what are the things that this subject taught you?

I have learned about our lesson in the las tfew weeks is all about why it
is important to have a good communication and formal communication to each
other and why it is important to learn about communication skills? It is
because when applying for a job in a big company and you are good in
communication skill you can pass any question regarding to your personal
information and can be qualify on the position you are applying for. One of the
criteria of the company is they are looking for an applicant that has excellent
communication skills both oral and written.

My struggle in this subject is about how will I communicate to people


because I am not that much fluent to English. Especially the way to
communicate to my teacher but I pursue to learn harder about communication
skills because this is relevant in our career so we can be globally competitive.

Writing Task 3:
Direction: Give 20 phrases that carry the two different pronunciations of the
Article The, 10 examples for each and 10 complete sentences. For each
sentence, see to it that you use the two different pronunciations.
